Hello, I have two questions for people that are Lund tuned. First off how exactly does our ECU read for flex fuel when you have a mixture of 93 and e85? I understand we have a flex sensor but is the adjustments in real time based off knock or lack thereof?

Secondly, I am running a p1sc-1 stage 2 pulled down and wastegated at 12ish psi. Has Lund recommend you not run one or helped you configure your boost controller to what they believe is optimal for their tunes and your setup?

We DON'T have an actual flex fuel sensor. The flex fuel tunes use inferred logic from the MAF, and O2 sensors to come up with the alcohol%. And once it learns the mixture it locks in until refill tank, or reload tune. And flex is only possible currently for N/A, not forced induction. Tuners theoretically could, but they don't want to blow up engines if it's not perfect under the added stress from F/I.

Jon Lund jr advised me against a wastegate, excess heat. And if you have too big of a pulley and bleed off a ton of boost it's hard on the blower itself. But they will tune for it if you do it.

I don't think Lund did Flex tunes for FI? Unless I misunderstood them.

Appreciate the help! I wasn't sure if they did flex fuel for FI or not as I assumed it would be very difficult on FI w/ the gen2 stock ECUs.

I'm already wastegated and have my eboost controller set up figure it would be a waste not to use it now but yeah I see your point. I'll ask them what they think esp with my goal of 750-800 whp.

Depends on your tuner, Dakota at Lund encouraged me to wastegate mine and was actually surprised by how fast boost built after I did. He tuned for it and made adjustments as needed.

They can advise you on your boost controller settings but theyre not going to be able to put alot of time and effort into it remotely. Best bet is to read up on the manual exactly what each option does and get the boost controller dialed in yourself. If you have an eBoost get a 4 port solenoid and use the top port of the wastegate.

Good to know! Yeah, I know how to dial in the eboost and I already have the 4 port. Happy to hear Dakota was able to advise you on some settings though as I didn't want to blindly do it myself and overboost. Really appreciate the help!

No need really for a WG on a P1. Like @SolarFlare suggested, you can run that bitch out of steam on E85. As for your question though, no such thing as flex and boost from Lund as mentioned. Dakota also did my tune when I was WG and we had fun dialing it in. Also created a higher boost and lower boost tune just to ensure things were safe when I turned things up. In the end though, I do not run my WG any more as my power built all the way to about 6500 then fell off; I wanted more up top than the WG allowed for. So I run a smaller pulley and make hay all the way up to 7700 now.

You have a P1sc. If I may suggest, remove the Wastegate and let that little puppy breath.

Appreciate the help! I prob won't need the wastegate now that I'm going e85 but at the time being on pump gas and using the Holley sniper intake it made sense to increase mid range. I know what you mean tho, I too have my power drop off at around 6800-7k.

I'll get with Lund and see what they think as I still like the idea of turning the car down easily with the boost controller. Plus, I hate the idea of having to take the wastegate off and trying to sell it, lol.

If you'll be on E85 all the time, no reason to have the wastegate at all. Only would be useful if you want to be able to turn it down for 93.

I would like to be on e85 as much as possible, however, e85 isn't as prevalent around my surrounding area and PA as I would like for longer trips. Given I don't need higher boost and mid range on 93 when I'm just cruising but you never know when you're going to find someone who wants to have a little fun on an empty highway. Mostly, I just don't want to take it off, lol. I'll wait and see how it does on the dyno with Lund/e85 but now I have a feeling I'm going to have to bite the bullet.

Understandable to keep it for running 93. It's not going to do any harm when running E85 it will just stay shut, so no reason to remove.

would a car with a paxton on e85 benefit with or without wastegate?
If you have room to pulley down your midrange will benefit from a wastegate. Wastegates don't help top end/max power. It will allow you to run a pulley for most boost than you intend to run to get you into boost faster, and then bleed off the excess over your intended boost number. Top end will stay about the same but midrange power will go up.
