Hallo guys, i'm in the market for a CAI... and probably a tune.

I've been looking for videos or sound clips on youtube but am only finding JLT, Air raid, MMR, and Mishimoto, and i think K&N?

For those of your that have MMR, I like the price but i'm wondering how the sound is? Can you hear it from inside your car with the windows up? or do you have to put the windows down?

Also if I do get a CAI, will I hear blow off or just turbo spooling on accelration?

You're gonna get more sound from the metal intakes with a fenderwell filter placement.

you'll hear intake sucking noises and your bypass valve venting boost on decel. you won't hear spooling noises w/out an exhaust/downpipe change.

You will hear the turbo spooling with the windows down. The mishimoto is very loud both when accelerating and the blow off even with the windows up

I have the MAP CAI and you can hear it regardless of windows up or down even with music on. It's loud for sure. People mistaken it and be like damn that turbo sounds good. But it's just the CAI lol. I think the MAP and MMR is almost the same. But MAP has it listed for like 200 or around there.

With my MMR intake, I hear the turbo windows up and with the radio on. I love it!

I also have the mmr, definitely louder than stock but I wonder if having the filter in the engine bay would be louder? I was thinking that the mmr seemed pretty quiet with the windows up. Down on the other hand it's pretty loud!

I run Mishi with a Boomba BOV adapter (aftermarket BOV will go on new charge pipes). It's loud as shit and I love it.

Hands down MAPerformance. I've been running their CAI for over 8+ months now and it's by far amazing. It's loud, and it has that blow off valve type air release to it as well. And you know what's the best part? The MAPerformance CAI is a metal tube and the price is so damn attractive.

MAPeformance CAI + MBRP Race Series Cat-Back exhaust = jizz in pants

Thats what I'm running, 3" Homemade CAI, a tad more sound than stock. Biggest sound difference is hearing more of the turbo blow off.

Here is a video of what my car use to sound like with my MMR CAI. It's now on a shelf in my garage though since my engine blew up. Back to the POS stock air box :(

Thanks for considering our intake system. If you want sound, a free flowing system is the way to go. Below is a clips with some sound testing captured during the development of our kit.

I recommend the MMR.. a CAI is just a tube with a filter, don't get sucked into paying extra when it isn't entirely necessary. Besides, the MMR is one of the biggest (metal) tubes, can be ordered color matched to your car and sounds great.

You can hear it with the windows up but it's not that loud inside the cabin. With the windows down however, it sounds friggin' awesome.. I love it. Get tons of looks driving down the street from the screaming intake and the awesome blow off Lol.
