They also talk about the spring seal of the "easy seal" no gas cap flap being stuck. Overly creative cheap crap from ford. You could try to clean it out and lube it up.

Out of curiosity, how long have you been running the mod?

Thanks. Sounds possible. Don't know why it then ran very rough and died. When I ran diagnostic and deleted codes it started up fine and no moaning-for now.
I may call my dealer and present the issue in a hypothetical sort of way...
I'd check for a plugged vapor line...if the line from the tank to the evap canister gets plugged, it will cause issues. Not even sure our cars have that? ;)

The moaning sounds like it's the fuel pump working harder than normal to overcome a vacuum condition in the fuel tank (which should not be present if everything is working right...).

Thanks Regs. Much appreciated info.

I have had the Livernois tune with all other bolt-ons since 30,000 miles. Now have 50,300 miles on the car. I did not tune for a while waiting on the Ford Performance tuner, crazy me. I am going to run the seal issue by my dealer service manager-he knows I have mods but has been cool so far fixing everything under my extended warranty.

Thanks El. The fuel pump crossed my mind even though I had no idea why! Guess I need to reflash to stock and take it in to the dealer. Really does not sound like a mod issue.

Taking it to dealer Monday. I hoped the reflash would somehow fix but it did not. I called the service manager today and told him about the sound and the trouble code and he said that it was probably the purge valve in the fuel system.

Let you know more Monday night!

So I reflashed to stock before taking to the dealer and in doing so had to delete the trouble code. Then dealer checked and guess what, no trouble code and they did not hear the problem.

Of course the problem reappeared soon after leaving dealership and reflash helps for a couple of days before return of foghorn sound from gas tank area and car dying at idle. Taking it back tomorrow and going to ask them to replace the purge valve regardless.
