Wow. So you got your money back in the end. I feel bad for the salesman I have dealt with but I'm looking at the end of January for my car to come in.I had a dealer in Mass try this on a dealer order. EDD was within a week and it kept getting pushed out. I finally gave up and bought at another dealer. Once I spoke with the GM and he still wouldn't refund it I just initiated a charge back on the credit card. Laws vary by state but typically unless it is in writing that it isn't refundable it is.
Typically a business can only keep a deposit if they can prove an actual lose. With a car it is probably next to impossible since the car will sell and they will make money just a question of when.
Thanks for the info. The dealer is in va so I have no idea of their laws.
