Not as easy as everyone says they are, it was an absolute nightmare, I spent about 1.5 hours messing around and then took it to my mate who's a mechanic, put it up on a ramp and went under, he did it in about 10minutes.

The process is as follows:

Remove the 3 pop rivets from the wheel arch lining, and then pull back:

Get your hand in and pull the following bulb out (That's the DRL)

You can just about see the grey clip.

Remove the grey clip. There's a small pusher on the side that faces the edge of the car.

Turn the bulb anticlockwise about 180 degree's.

DO NOT. PUT. THE. LED. IN. THE. CONNECTOR (GREY). YET. (I wasted 1hour trying this...)

Put the LED into the socket, it had 3 small holes, you'll have to push the light in so the red rubber seal sits in, then tighten the bulb in (Clockwise) and it'll lock in.

Locked in:

Once done, put the pop caps back in and you're good to go!

Thank you so much Big_G for helping with the bulbs and being on call when i'd got to you! and to my Mechanic friend Will :)

Gotta start somewhere. I'd been bolting all manner of shit to a mark 2 Escort for 4 years by the time i was your age but none of it looked as classy as your DRLs ;)

yeah i'm a total novice, however, a novice is best to write a guide than an expert as he finds the oddest sh1t to f*k up on.

Trust me, it's the same process with the bank, put a newbie in front of it they'll pull at more issues than an expert.

Anyway lads, there's your guide written by a total tool! Don't expect me to drill anything into my car, leaving that to experts.

When I got the Aussie Led's it came with a note suggesting if you want a tighter fit, replace the red sealing rubber with the original from the oem bulb. Dunno how tight the replacement led fit is but worth remembering if you are worried about a decent seal.

Great work MM - not a donut, just not aware of the tacit knowledge experts leave out when leaving instructions. They forget all of the steps they too had to learn once upon a time. This will really help. I'm even more of a novice e.g., what's a 'pop rivet' and how do they come out? (Don't worry, I'll google it)

Same as.

Not sure I'd want to be learning, unsupervised, on a brand new £35K car! :eyebulge:

Pop rivets are the little plastic things that hold the wheel arch trim in place, they come out with a flat head screw driver, you just pull up on the edge and it'll come out.

Just don't lose them like I did!

I don't want to be a pedantic twat here MM, but it needs pointing out to save you embarrassing yourself when you need to buy replacements. ;)

Pop rivets are metal and are actual rivets that need fitting with a proper gun and won't come out unless drilled out.

The things you lost from your arch liner are called push fasteners (or push pins, trim pins etc etc).

And remove carefully as the the plastic of the plug (edit: push fasteners :D) bends easily and it could become though to put them back in, they might loose grip and you might loose them.
My car was already missing 2 before I started swapping the DRL (got it in Aug last year), now I lost an additional one while driving.
Will get new ones friday.
I noticed the plugs are different on a 16 car. The plugs used on a 2015 car are crappier than on a 2016. Must be a reason they already changed these.

Thanks for this. Methinks I'll ask Think Ford Guildford to do it for me as a job lot before pick up: they're fitting front sensors anyway (plus rear MSPPs - I hope)
