So the Magnetic can look green?

Thanks

Many of the dark metallic grays can look a touch green under the right light. I mean, just look at a dark gray and a dark green color sample side-by-side.

Our T4R is Mica Metallic, my Supra was [custom] Graphite Gray Pearl (it's an OEM Lexus color), both had a little greenish shift in some photos.

Guard can look grey like Magnetic. Magnetic always look grey.
Like this picture for example. I think its a combination of green plus blue sky.
Can you tell which is guard and which is magnetic?

Top is definitely the Guard. But that's something new I've learned. I thought the Guard was maybe another name or older year of Magnetic.

Ok, so Magnetic is still in the running up against Silver.

Thanks!!

Unlike a lot of others, I just wasn't having a gray car (Magnetic). Really love DIB and Ruby when they are clean, but also we lived in a desert when I ordered and dark colors are just plain hot.

That left silver and white. Really tough call, I like them both. I honestly think I like the silver better, especially once I decided on Redline interior. But my wife, who cheered me on to buy a GT Premium, really doesn't like silver. I let her win that one, because it wasn't that big a deal for me and it was for her. So, white it is!

I really dig on white with a red interior, just so classic, I was super set on Redline, but I was flexible on the exterior, would've considered Mag, black, white, or even silver (though I just came out of a silver + red interior car, so I also wanted a little changeup).

Yeah the interior colors are growing on me, especially the cream on black. But honestly, when the time comes to pull the trigger I think I'll have a hard enough time finding what I'm already looking for (15 GT, Premium, Performance, under 10K, and as close as possible to $30k in Magnetic or Silver), that adding somethinig else to the list would have me waiting forever.

What I was told is that, once the loan company does a hard hit on my credit score, the clock starts ticking and I have 60 days to make my purchase or else they hit it again. They said each hit is 7-15pts!! :eyebulge:

Regarding credit bureaus, all auto loan credit inquiries within seven days of the initial inquiry are counted as a single "hard inquiry", and thus will only impact your credit score once. The same is true for home loan credit inquiries. This allows a buyer to shop for rates.

The 60 days the lender mentioned is the validity period for their specific offer of credit. This period varies by lender (typically 30, 45, or 60 days). After that period, since your credit may very likely have changed, they will run another credit inquiry.

Actually it depends on the scoring model. It is either 14 days or 45 days. FICO refers to it as "rate shopping".

Went back with my wife and son and looked at all the new 15's (or maybe they were 16's?). Not a single car out of the 15-20 on their lot had the performance package. Just surface rusted standard rotars and 4 piston stock brakes.

Now it was a dreary day and raining but when comparing the Silver to the Magnetic, the hands down, no contest winner was the magnetic. Looks the sharpest and most sleek out of any of the colors. So that's what I'll be going with.

At this point I have a good idea of what my loan/payments/insurance will look like, I know that I want the premium and performance package. Still have to buy the Blackvue 650 dashcams and figure out what to get on my plate. My wife started laughing hysterically when I said "A BAD PNY" or "MEAN PNY" so I guess those are out. She said they sounded gay.

So I gotta think of something a little tougher that won't elicit giggles from passers by...or those I pass by.

Plus I gotta find the best radar detector and a nice phone holder so I can combine it with Waze.

Down the road I'll probably need help with what to look for and specifics of how these cars area wearing after their first year on the road.

Other than that, what else needs to be considered?

Thanks

You will save a bit of money by not getting the performance pack, more than enough to cover the cameras and detector...if that's a concern. But honestly I haven't used a radar detector in 6 years and haven't had a ticket since.

Which lane do you spend more time in...left or right?

In a car like this I'm thinking, even if we aren't heavy on the throttle it's going to attract attention. I'd rather know where to stay well under the limit.

By the time I buy this summer, the price will have dropped a little bit. No way I'd buy without the performance pack knowing what I know at this point. And I plan on taking care of this car long term. So I don't mind paying a little more up front for ultimate enjoyment over the years.

Thanks

you planning to drive the car in the cold? If so, you will want to swap the PP tires back to A/S or even winters, and on a PP wheel size that will set you back at least another grand. And doing that you lose the relative performance advantage over a base GT. Lateral accel / stopping power, etc. But the Brembos do look cool.

Base GT generally means cheaper tires, more tire choice, and a spare tire in the tru[n]k.
