So I noticed on a road trip that when going above 80mph I could feel a vibration or rumble. Couldn't quite tell if it was from tires, wind or worst case the dreaded drive line vibration.

Little info, 16 gt auto with the original all season pirelli tires. 14k miles. I've been neglecting mytire psi. I think my fronts were 34 and rears 32.

It was such a weird feeling. Usually I can cruise at 80-90 and it feels like I'm gliding along the road but I could feel a rumble in the steering wheel and what felt like resistance on the throttle.

Check your rear hub bearings for premature wear. A common issue, I'm told.

Rumble felt in slight brake apply?
Rumble in steering wheel?
Rumble in seat?
Rumble less with throttle input?
Tire wear patterns?

Not so much rumble in brake apply. I actually had to brake hard once and it was a smooth stop.

Rumble is most notable in the steering wheel, I want to say I can feel it in the tires but not sure as I'm honestly not mechanically inclined.

Rumble in seat...eh not too much but a little yes.

Throttle input did smooth it out but if I hung above 80 felt the rumble. If I was accelerating passed 80 it as smooth.

Tire wear is pretty even all around. Rotated the tires at about 8k and I'm at 14k now. The tires are old and like I said the psi were off from the front to the rears.

Thanks all for the help

I'd be curious in a light brake apply.
Your tire front to rear difference I wouldn't worry about unless they where corner to corner as well.
You might be right about tires. I liked my wife's Perellis until they got some miles on them.
Ditched them for Michelins and amazingly lots off issues disappeared.
Not saying perellis are bad but I personally over the years have had bad luck with them.

Just out of curiosity what psi do you all run? I know the dealer always pumps them up to 40 but I really feel 30-32 is the sweet spot.

My door jam tag reads 32 front & back so that’s been my target. Season changes have resulted in 30ish but I keep at 32. The factory Michelin’s on my car are amazing. I will not save a few $ for something else replacement time...they are that good
My car was surprisingly delivered new at 40 psi. I believe it was for a transport and or inventory reasons.

That’s what she said too!
Keep it under 90 and she may last the mile

+1 for this. I have 27k (and conveniently 1 month over my 3 yr warranty) and started to get some vibration in the seat. Bad driver side rear hub bearing.
