Great information and thanks for posting.:like:

Based on your data are you suggesting that there will be a total of ~80 GT350R's that will come with the HEP option?

Whatever the case thanks for posting this cool information and certainly gives us enthusiasts something to think about and digest.

What I would say is that of the VINs I searched that matched the pattern and as of today (caveat, caveat), there will be 102 HEP GT350Rs made, of which 22 have been built.

I have a complete breakdown by color if anyone's interested. Race red is pretty much the rarest. Also there's no reason I couldn't regularly pull data on the HEP VINs we know still have to be built and we can watch them week by week as they go through status transitions.

In terms of raw data (CSV or whatever) I know that VINs are public to a degree, but are some people reluctant to have it made explicitly public?

One more question for you and that is how were you able to determine by the VIN which of these cars were GT350R HEP optioned cars and which ones were GT350 HEP cars as to the best of my knowledge there is no way to differentiate the two by the VIN?

:inspect:
Oh that was easy. Just parsed out the body of the data I got back from trackmymustang.com - it tells you what model it is. Then I verified each one manually and noted the color

The rarest color in what will probably be the most sought after year. I’ll take it thanks.

*** EDITED FOR MISSING DATA ***

Yes. There's just one Race Red car I found. Rest of the colors break down as follows:

Race red: 1
Lime: 4
Velocity blue: 4
Kona blue: 6
Orange: 7
Rapid red: 9
Perf blue: 13
Magnetic: 14
Oxford White: 18
Silver: 20
Black: 41
Wimbledon White: 113

I did note the stripe colors, but it's a little too much to list. Interestingly, no Orange one has stripes.

I found 2 race reds. One in Seattle and the one I bought from Iowa. That’s all I found after searching about 50 zip codes.

You are way ahead of me young fellow and appreciate all of the attached information!

For what it is worth back in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 model years a person could actually differentiate a GT350 and GT350R by the VIN but once the 2018 MY and beyond came along Ford decided to lump all of the GT350's and R's with the same VIN series of numbers/letters therefore unless someone can do what you have done here with the newer models from 2018 and on the VIN by itself will not separate the two cars by model.

Given the discussion here about relative rarity of HEP GT350Rs, how many are still to be produced etc. I thought it would be fun to get some hard data.

So I pulled every GT350R VIN from trackmymustang.com that matches the pattern 1FA6P8JZ-L555---- and broke the data down by status and color. All of the cars I’ve been looking at over the last few weeks and those discussed in this thread are included in the data - as far as I can tell at least.

I have good news and bad news :)

The bad news is that Wimbledon White is currently by FAR the least original color for a 2020 GT350R.
The good news is that only 20% of the HEP GT350Rs that have a VIN have actually been produced. So there are many more to come.

Here’s how the HEP GT350R data breaks down (note I didn't look at non-R HEP cars):

GT350Rs built to date: 69
Of which HEP editions: 22

GT350Rs scheduled for production: 155
Of which HEP editions: 80

Lowest HEP GT350R VIN: 0978
Highest HEP GT350R VIN: 1760

HEP GT350R by status (shown as HEP / total):

Delivered: 6 / 40
Received: 1 / 2
Shipped: 1 / 2
Released: 0 / 1
Trim Line: 2 / 4
Body Shop: 1 / 5
Produced: 11 / 15
Scheduled to Day: 42 / 82
Scheduled to Week: 38 / 73

FYI My VIN follows this pattern but is not an R. My VIN starts with 1FA6P8JZXL555

I wrote a script that literally walks every possible combination looking for matches. Note that VINs have a unique digit before the L555 so it's not as simple as walking from 0000 to 9999, you also have to test for the unique digit. I stopped at around 3000 because I wasn't picking up any matches above 1800. It's possible there's a range I've missed, but someone can correct me on that. I'm not a VIN expert. I ended up manually matching the colors. I probably could have automated it, but when you combine color with stripe, there are quite a few combinations
Say no more, haha. Scripting and coding was something I never learned how to do, but I understand the concept. Great work on helping us get an idea on all the different VINs that are out there. I do know that the earliest HEP R VIN was L55500731, so there may be even more that you didn't catch.

Oh interesting. Well I may still have work to do then. The first 8 digits should always be the same - 1FA6P8JZ - corresponds to the model. Maybe the "unique digit" can be a A-Z as well as 0-9. I assumed it was just the latter.

Yea it's looking like I did miss some, I think because of a flawed assumption I made in the magic digit before the L. Do you know what the full VIN of L55500731 was?

I will do some more searching and correct the original posts with whatever I find

1FA6P8JZ9L5550408 is the one I found too. I'd be curious to know about the other. Might point to a flaw in either my color perception or the VIN range :)

Does yours still show up on trackmymustang? Mind sharing the VIN?
