My husband and I also have our own separate "allowance" accounts that are directly deposited from our paychecks.

He encourages my Mustang hobby. I spend much of my "mad money" taking good care of it and buying it toys.:love: (Spoiler is next.)
He wants to supercharge it this year. :hail:

He never drives it. :shrug:

I have zero complaints.

My wifey and I also have something like this setup. We have a bank account that gets fed $150 every paycheck with the intention of $50 to savings, $100 to checking that is my "whatever I want" allowance, and day to day crap comes from our main bank account.

On the "side" I also have my paypal account that gets used often enough and PayPal credit which generally gets paid off from the main account anyway.

On the car side, she appreciates cars quite a bit, and after a week of owning our Focus ST asked me when I was going to put a new catback on it. It's now got every bolt-on but a bigger turbo. Stage "3" is good enough, and she likes that her Spool Bus also hauls ass.

She supports my hobbies of cars and music, as hers is action figures, legos and music. She has five guitars, a nearly $3000 DW drumset, and thousands upon thousands of dollars of CDs, and then i can't even imagine how much money has been spent from SideShow Collectibles.

The music thing ....... that's our real money sink. But i also gets a pass for both of us as it's a passion we both have. Heck I have thousands of dollars of guitars, but the most expensive is a a $3000 Gibson ES-335, so her drumset doesn't seem so bad after all. We are ALWAYS transparent about where money is getting spent though. The bills are assumed, but if she buys something, I know about it. If I go and get my hair done, she knows about it and how much it was, same for her. I think that alot of the issues that those people in "traditional marriages" have is that they're hiding secrets and our non-traditional marriage has zero secrets. We've been through the best of times and the worst of times, how can you have things hidden from your best friend, spouse and soul mate is beyond me.

Blut back to the music.... This is our guitar collection: All the left-handed ones are mine. It's an older picture though, as the lefty gretsch now has a bigsby, and the lefty strat has been replaced with an nearly identical '57 Reissue strat.

Well my wife has a 2004 Mach 1 and a 14 Focus ST as her daily so we don't have any issues with mod money. As long as you have your priorities in order, modding a car shouldn't be an issue IMO.

We should get our's together sometime and we can go racing. Between every single housewives show, every cooking show (seriously, any show that has to do with food).

My wife likes to go to wineries etc. Doesn't hurt when she brings home a $1500 Sage fly fishing rod for me. That is my real hobby.
