I'm over on TMS and AFM but really like the content here.

I JUST ordered a 2015 Mustang GT MT in Ruby Red with Nav. That's it.

I have a 2011 V6 MT in Kona Blue. I LOVE Kona Blue! The DIB is pretty nice but flat. The Ruby Red has the same "flash" as Kona Blue in a red hue. I'm good with that.

I drove the 2015 GT and fell in love immediately. After optioning out the V6 on my last 2011 order and losing a TON of value, I just wanted the premium with a couple of options. And I got a KILLER deal. (More than $5k off MSRP.)

I think the biggest improvement is ... well.. the whole car. But the interior is SO much better. The chassis is hugely different but honestly... it's a car... who knows how much better. Going from a 300+ HP V6 to a 435 HP V8... PRICELESS! OMG... this thing is a beast!

Mid-May can't come soon enough.

Congrats!! Ruby Red is definitely one of those colors that grew on me a lot once I saw it in person. Beautiful color.

Quit yer whinnin'! I ordered last May 20th when ordering banks opened and had to wait until Nov. 5th before I could sit in the drivers seat. What was worse, I was borrowing cars for over a year after my '95 was totaled just waiting on the announcement of the '15.
It's well worth the wait!

You should have procharged the V6 and had 1000+ HP!

Good choice though, the ruby red is such a nice color, the wait will be super tough but it is well worth it, good luck

Hey Jerry ... welcome to M6G !!

On TMS I am orange3.9stang and I've got the other early build Kona Blue MCA that was delivered about the same time as yours ... actually, I think mine was a week or so earlier and you had lost all patience at that point !!

mine is an M/T MCA with HID's, & Security Pkg ... IIRC yours is also M/T but you got the 3.31 gears and Electronics pkg

Anyway, over 105k miles on mine and I'm debating on replacing it this Spring as well.

Rented a 2015 Premium Ecoboost in November (Ruby Red too !!) down in Orlando for a week ...

... and have been dreamin' ever since !!

I'm not dreamin' GT though, I'll be getting an M/T EB as mine sees 400 mi/wk and I would like to see it beat the ave. 30.5 MPG that my '11 has done (hand calculated ave, NOT the display).

I'm also likely going to backtrack to a BASE model as it now has all the mandatory features I require for a DD ... I prefer CLOTH seats and all I'll really miss is the better Shaker Sound System. Also will miss the Lighted Sill Plates, Ambient Lighting, and Stainless Trimmed Pedals but these can all be added to a base model and Audio can be upgraded with aftermarket for far less than the almost 4k adder for a Premium model.

A base EB is almost 2k less than what I paid for my 2011, and has so much more content than even a Premium had at that time.

What's up, Doug?!?! I remember you over there.

I love my 2011 V6. I really, really do. It's going to be sad to part with it but I absolutely fell in love with the new GT. Gas money? BAH! I just went from a 5 mile local commute (12 mins) to a 15 mile hell-ish commute (45 mins) so I may regret this decision.

I had to go premium because it has all the stuff I wanted. My V6 was $31k when I bought it loaded out -- and yep -- no HID but I did get the electronics package and the 3.31 gears. With the new one, I only wanted the integrated NAV ($795 for that.... $2500 for my EP in the old one... seemed like a bargain!) MY OTD price on the new GT is going to be $35k. So yeah, $4k more than my old V6 loaded but the GT pretty much has everything that had... and that V8. Plus the OTD price was actually more than $31k so really less than $4k. I struck a really good deal on the GT.

I totally agree on the stereo... my F150 had a stock unit that I replaced with a Pioneer with Nav. I upgraded all 4 speakers and added an underseat sub. It's WAY better than my Mustang's "Shaker" system. That $2500 seems like the biggest "waste" I spent in 2011 but the integration was what I was looking for and it does it well. The 2011 V6 is quite a nice "GT" car for not being a GT.

As for the EB, without letting the flame wars start, my big problem with it is the HP/Torque numbers are for 93 octane. Put in 87 and you're going to end up with less power than the V6. And crappy sound (without the special enhancements from Ford audio.) But as a DD for 20k miles a year, it makes perfect sense! My V6 only has 45k miles on it in 5 years.

If they'd have had Kona Blue I would have been 100% sold. But the Deep Impact Blue is just a little too flat. It's a great color but too flat after owning Kona Blue. The Ruby Red (with a $395 price premium) just pops. And I'm not a red car guy.

My fingers are crossed that gas stays below $3 for a while. Not that it would matter when the right foot actually presses down... the smiles will be endless. And in reality, after filling a 36 gallon tank on my F150... everything else is really, really good.

I'll try not to lose my patience this time around. But it's not likely. RAMP 51... please don't eat my car.

Welcome and hang in there. It's been a blast having one of these cars. I miss my 2010 GT but the new car is an awesome replacement.

By the way, I still dream about Corvettes too :)

I still have my '82. Miss my '99 a little.

Wanted a 2015 Stingray but the extra $20k over a Mustang GT kept me away. Plus it's way cheaper to own/drive a Mustang.

Where's my new Mustang?!?!?!? OK, it's been 2 days. Sorry.

You shouldn't see a huge drop, I am only seeing about 1 or so less mpg than my 14 3.7. What did you get with the 11?

Jerry,

As far as color, I'm between Guard and Comp Orange. Have not owned a Green Mustang yet so that draws me to Guard, but had CO on my 2004 and it was cool having 2 orange cars in the garage (my '69 is Calypso Coral, Ford's non-clear coat version of CO). CO was the least common color in 2004 plus was 1 year only and I'm guessing it will be similar in 2015 ... so I'm tempted to go back to that too.

My 2011 had an MSRP of $28,610 and was $26,055.50 out the door before taxes. This was a $100 over invoice deal and included $1250 in rebates.

Similar to your obsession in 2011, I've been tracking progress of all the "Extended Inventory" cars to my local dealer since early October on cotus. Cars ordered after November 1st seem to be running around 6 to 8 weeks (order date to delivery date).

RAMP 51 ... aka AREA 51 !!

My 2011 was at a different ramp for 4 weeks "RAMP 5P" then sat at a Chicago rail yard for a week with a status of "conveyance mechanical failure" before finally being delivered to my dealer 2.5 hours north.

I'm waiting to see the 2016 Ordering Guide plus waiting for a K1 to finish my 2014 taxes before I decide to order a 2015 or not. End of 2015 production is currently scheduled for mid-July, so the 2016 Order Guide should be out any day now as should that darn K1 per our accountant !!
