Not for long

But yes, they are also a good manufacturer of lighting products. Not many companies actually design and manufacture their own products like we do, so we do have to respect them!

However, I must warn you that all 7443-sized LED bulbs currently on the market will have the same base connector issues that some of our customers experienced. Some will fit OK, like ours did when we installed them, but none will "click" in fully.

The problem is due to a very unique, new socket design by Ford, and the fact that the base connector molds on the market are all based on 7443 size, not the 7444NA size. 7444 and 7443 are nearly identical. In every single application we've ever seen, the 7443 will fit the 7444 without any problem. If you search 7443 LED bulb on Google, you'll see that every supplier out there lists 7444 as a direct cross reference, and we did too, as we've never had an issue where it didn't fit perfectly.

After lengthy analysis and review, we determined that this new socket Ford is using on the 2015 Mustang makes use of the very small design difference between the 7443 and 7444. We searched long and hard, but there are zero existing toolings/moldings that are identical to 7444NA. They are all 7443, which makes sense as this is a much more common bulb size, and no one has ever had any problem using 7443 bulbs in a 7444NA socket before!

Anyway, as we've said, we have found a solution, and we are currently going to be manufacturing our own base connectors in order to meet the requirements of this socket.

It was certainly a mis-step on our part to release the product without more thorough testing, but the bulbs fit just fine in our Mustang, and we really didn't see this coming. Every LED company out there is going to have to deal with this issue. I'm at least glad that we can resolve the problem now, before there are thousands more customers having a bad experience with our products.

As we've said, we'll replace any bulbs for customers who could not get them to stay in the socket. Of course, we will gladly accept a return and refund anyone who prefers not to wait. It's very understandable that all of this trouble is very frustrating. However, I really appreciate the support, patience, and understanding of those who purchased our bulbs. We will do everything we can to make things right, and make sure you are happy with your Diode Dynamics products.

Mine are in and seem to be ok. Is this an issue with all or some? I'm wondering if I should replace mine if this is defective design.

When you re-release the updated version of the Switchbacks, are you going to package it with the dashboard turn signal indicator blink rate fix? I wouldn't think many people would want the blink rate to no longer be OEM. That way, a separate add-on doesn't have to be purchased to fix the issue.

Is a replacement turn signal relay required to fix the blink rate?

We realize that, which is why we are developing a completely plug and play resistor harness to correct the issue.

It will be available in early 2015

The new switchbacks are expect to arrive next week

Do the Amber 7443's have the same fitment issues as the switchbacks? I want to exchange my switchbacks for all Amber, but I'm wondering if they'll have the same issue.

All 7443 LED bulbs will have fitment issues with the 2015 Mustang's socket. We redesigned the switchbacks to be a true 7444 to fit the 2015 Mustang perfectly.

The single color bulbs will receive a similar treatment in the near future. They are still unavailable for the 2015 Mustang.

Again, the 2015 Mustang is the first vehicle we've ever encountered that uses this socket style. Most 7443/7444 sockets will use a 7443 with no issue whatsoever.

As always, I will keep everyone up to date with the latest information about our 2015 Mustang lighting. We have some exciting things in the works :D

Quick Question:

I noticed one of the new Ford Taurus Police Interceptors the other day turning left and the car had LED front turn signals that flashed mid corner and turned off completely once the turn was completed.

No way are those aftermarket (?) so is there any way to get a set for the S550 Mustang? Being Ford OEM, would they fit/plug and play?

My hopes are low but I thought I'd ask. I really want to replace that yellow bulb on my mustang with a Yellow turn signal that is off when I don't need it, and flashes to the turn signal.
