Meh, I love diode dynamics with probably 95+% of everyone else on here. Yes, the first run switchbacks may have issues for some (mine are fine) and you had issues. Whatever. I'm sure they can rectify the situation. Who are you going to turn to with the same quality?

I agree 100% that Diode is good company. If you are looking for equal or better quality check out exLEDusa.com. A lot of their custom stuff is oriented around imports, but their quality is top notch and they have a wider color/temperature selection than Diode.

Diode Dynamics provides good quality and fairly priced LED's for the custom car market. Their products are made in the USA. If you don't like them for whatever reason, there are other companies that deal in imported products for you to use.

Not for long

But yes, they are also a good manufacturer of lighting products. Not many companies actually design and manufacture their own products like we do, so we do have to respect them!

However, I must warn you that all 7443-sized LED bulbs currently on the market will have the same base connector issues that some of our customers experienced. Some will fit OK, like ours did when we installed them, but none will "click" in fully.

The problem is due to a very unique, new socket design by Ford, and the fact that the base connector molds on the market are all based on 7443 size, not the 7444NA size. 7444 and 7443 are nearly identical. In every single application we've ever seen, the 7443 will fit the 7444 without any problem. If you search 7443 LED bulb on Google, you'll see that every supplier out there lists 7444 as a direct cross reference, and we did too, as we've never had an issue where it didn't fit perfectly.

After lengthy analysis and review, we determined that this new socket Ford is using on the 2015 Mustang makes use of the very small design difference between the 7443 and 7444. We searched long and hard, but there are zero existing toolings/moldings that are identical to 7444NA. They are all 7443, which makes sense as this is a much more common bulb size, and no one has ever had any problem using 7443 bulbs in a 7444NA socket before!

Anyway, as we've said, we have found a solution, and we are currently going to be manufacturing our own base connectors in order to meet the requirements of this socket.

It was certainly a mis-step on our part to release the product without more thorough testing, but the bulbs fit just fine in our Mustang, and we really didn't see this coming. Every LED company out there is going to have to deal with this issue. I'm at least glad that we can resolve the problem now, before there are thousands more customers having a bad experience with our products.

As we've said, we'll replace any bulbs for customers who could not get them to stay in the socket. Of course, we will gladly accept a return and refund anyone who prefers not to wait. It's very understandable that all of this trouble is very frustrating. However, I really appreciate the support, patience, and understanding of those who purchased our bulbs. We will do everything we can to make things right, and make sure you are happy with your Diode Dynamics products.

Big thanks for being forthright on the issue and working to find a proper solution to the problem. You really can't ask for anything more than that in vendor/manufacturer.

Now that's a stand-up company. DD will be my choice in the spring when I can actually get the car out of the garage again :)
