Yesterday, make an appointment with my tire shop to swap the summer tires with snow tires on the SUV.
Wife gets home, put the snow tires in the trunk / back seat and off we go for a 2pm appointment today.
6 people waiting in line - ok, it's borderline snow season here, i heard at least half say they were there for the same thing.
2 hours later, done. Get in the car - tire pressure sensor is on. Ok, I think - they just swapped the tires, need a few miles for everything to recalibrate. Says 25psi (everything else is 33-34psi) - ok, maybe they just forgot to fill one.
Get on the highway - 25psi, then 24, 23, 22 - WTF? I have a leak?
Get off on the closest exit - get to a gas station, fill it back to 33psi - start taking side roads home just in case - sure enough, by the time I get home, tire is back down to 22psi
Was going to go get it taken care of tonight but we have tickets for Thor tonight. Plus - what'd am I gonna do - have them fix it tonight, then have the wife drive it tomorrow to work and there be another problem? I'll just drive her to work tomorrow then take it.
WTF!!! Aren't shops supposed to check for leaks before letting people get on the road?
They'll fix it - it's apart of their guarantee - so long as you buy it from them, they'll fix flats, do rotations, etc... but seriously what a PITA.
Worse - the wife says "I'd have never known that's what that light ment or that it might be a serious problem" - FML, haha. Yes, driving on the highway at 70mph with a flat tire would of really, really, ruined your day.
While I was there, pull a quote for snow tires for the Mustang. $771 installed for Dunlap snow tires. I'm feeling their cheaper on Tire Rack and those were Blizzaks? Might have to shop around if I get them for the Mustang.
