They are an odd dog. In as retail customer orders but if the dealership put it in early enough, it's scheduled with stock orders. Ford wants some of those out early even as retails.

But they don't show up in cotus

Mine was ordered 6/6, just trying to get an idea on when might possibly arrive. I checked with Tricia but no vin or build date yet. I was hoping for October but I guess that's not likely, just want to get it before there is salt/snow on the ground.

I was thinking with number 1964 getting auctioned off in Sept that all the LEs would be built in Sept. but maybe they are building that one out of sequence.

Think they will roll a pre production LE up on the block, and the action will be for the right to get the last car

What about the information that says 1964 is supposed to make its debut on Sept 12th? Wouldn't that mean they would all be produced by then, if 1964 is the last one produced.

Each limited-edition car features a plaque on the instrument panel engraved with a serial number and the signature of Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford. Mustang No. 1,964 will be customized into a one-of-one pace car package that includes the signatures of other Ford executives. The car will be revealed publicly for the first time at the Get Your Heart Racing Pit Party sponsored by Crest Automotive Group, Sept. 12 at Eastern Market in Detroit.

It will be done as a special order and built out of sequence.

So then 1963/1964 will truly be the last one built?
Maybe...maybe not:shrug: Sequence numbers and actual builds aren't always sequential. It depends on which batch it is in, it could be that 1945 will be the physically last built car, but 1964 will be historically known as the last car by sequence number. Confused yet:shrug:

My dealer has been bang on pretty well all dates so far. He told me my order is scheduled for November and more than likely it will arrive at the beginning of January.
This seems to jive and make sense to me. Ford wants to get rid of existing 2014s then after that fill dealers up with show cars. The LEs are ordered and a done deal in 99% of the cases and they know it so its not a priority from a business point of view, they know we will wait, not forever, but another few months because, hey, are you going to give up your order?
…...probably not.
Also rental car agencies always seem to get first crack too….good exposure and marketing for them. So far, all the dates have been pretty well as foretold back last winter so….
My advice is to put it on the back burner and enjoy whats left of the summer and forget about it.

I would assume they will run all the WW's and the Blues separate, but what do I know. Paint line has to be the production bottleneck, it is in every other industry.
