Launch control, newbie

Please be gentle, I'm not new to mods or mechanical, just to racing and tuner stuff. Ok so nutshell I have the Cobb on my 6mt and I know how to activate launch control, what I don't know is it's purpose or how to use it properly. Do I just activate it, step on the gas and then just let off the clutch once it is engaged? Again maybe a dumb question, but also flat foot shifting? I looked at tons of videos, but still can't grasp the concept. Maybe dumb it down for me. Thanks guys

P.S: selling the SCT x4 and buying the Cobb Accessport, was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Just in case someone else on the fense read this. The platform is just so much more refined if that makes any sense....

I just clutch in put it in gear 100% throttle and it will hold rpm until I let the clutch out. With flat foot I have used it a few times, sometimes I wonder if it is working properly other times it seems to work fine. Just keep the throttle at 100% clutch in and switch gear clutch out. Only do this if you are going to the top of the rpm range, it basically is a rev limiter like launch control accept it holds at 5000rpm while you shift so it doesn't drop off and you don't lose boost. So you switch gears at 6500rpm it will drop to 5000 in between shift and sit there until your clutch engaged again. From what I understand.

Thank you! This clears up a lot. It was hard watching a video of someone's feet on the pedals, without being able to see any of the gauges at the same time. Lol

The Cobb OTS maps don't have Launch Control set, it has to be set by a Protuner.

Been trying to figure that out, in my next revision would I have to tell you what rpm I'd like the launch control to be set?
