Can any one with a new 2018 tell, us that are waiting for ours to arrive, how the headlights are? I hope as good as the H.I.D.

I don't have an 18 but I can tell you led will be a lot brighter than hid any much cleaner white color. My brother has a 2018 Raptor and those LEDs are freaking bright. Plus I have a friend with an Infiniti G50 and those LEDs are very bright I love the look.

Ive seen them following me around here in Michigan and they are definitely brighter/better than the 15-17 headlights.

Hell my wife's STI has better headlights than my Mustang GT.

I do not like the style of the lens housing with the slotted circle bit (attached - it looks cheap and doesn't really match anything else on the vehicle) but definitely wish I had the improved beam.

I don't know if they are really brighter, but they put out a very even band of light.

Looks like a heat sink?

High Intensity Disappointment is what HID stands for.

Haven't driven anything with Projector Beam Headlights have you. There in my wife's 15 Edge and they really suck.

I know you're joking, but there are pros and cons to both HIDs and LEDs.

HIDs:
- In most applications, HIDs are still brighter. The technology that has had more time to mature and develop. Eventually, I believe LEDs will take over, but HIDs are the current technology still.
- Broader color spectrum
- HIDs can assist you in helping to melt snow and ice from the headlight lens, LEDs cannot
- Don't require extra cooling like LEDs do

LEDs:
- Last longer than HIDs
- More expensive initially, but since they last longer, the cost tends to be a wash
- Don't have the glare that HIDs do
- Don't have a warm up period for maximum brightness, they are instant on
- More durable than HIDs because LEDs have no electrode or filament. They are shock and vibration resistant.

Another thing to keep in mind is the projector lens your car uses. This can make or break how good your headlights are.

This reminds me of back when I was 18 and my dad bought a very lightly used '09 GT500 (only had 1,400 miles) with the HID's from a Benz dealer in Maryland. It had super dark tinted windows and we lived in PA at the time so we knew we'd either have to remove it or just always have the windows down.

We drove it 3.5 hours home from the dealer during the day and I was lucky enough to have my dad let me take my girlfriend out for a spin in it that night. After just a few hundred feet of driving, I felt like the headlights were super dim so I tested the brights and they were dim as well. I remember thinking "how can HID's be this awful? Must be something wrong with them."

Few days later as we were walking toward it in a parking lot, we realized the entire windshield was tinted as well. If it wasn't limo tint it was close. It made the car look sooo badass but it had to come off immediately because PA cops and wanting to actually see out the front at night.

Anyway, I don't know why but the LED headlights on the 2018 are one of the things I'm jealous about not having. After installing the LED reverse light and switchback turn signals, it kind of annoys me that all of my exterior lights are LED except for the headlights haha.

Is it possible for us to swap to led and if someone has are there comparisons showing it on the vehicle? The only thing I see is 6000k bulb to make it more cool white but not actually make it brighter. When it rains the hids suck so bad it almost seems like my headlights aren’t even turned on making it feel like almost a hazard sometimes.

If the HID is that bad to you on a 15-17, the 18 LED is still going to be inadequate. There's hardly a noticeable difference between the two.
