Keyless FOB programing

FYI.....I asked my dealer today what Mustang Fob was going to cost and the parts department gave me a price of $159...so I said order me one. I have seen them on E BAY for $40 to $70, but they are used. If you order from E BAY or the dealer the metal laser cut metal key inside the remote is NOT included.You must have TWO previously programed remotes INSIDE the vehicle along with your new/used remote to complete programing. Procedure is described on page 62 of your owners manual.

I was wondering if anyone has done this. I have programmed keys in the past for all my other ford vehicles, but never a fob. I read in the manual how to program a new fob, but several websites listed 2019 Mustang fobs as requiring dealer programing. Not sure they said that to cover themselves if someone couldn't program it themselves or it their "New OEM fobs" were really fakes.

I have ordered two from Amazon for about $70 a piece and they both included the blank key and came in Ford packaging. They were easy to program myself and I had the blanks cut for a few dollars at Ford.

I ordered a NEW fob with the blank metal key. Cost me about $80 and I programmed the fob myself. Can long as you have two fobs programmed already.

Got my new OEM fob today. Took less then 3 minutes to program the new one. I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to programing a new key for my 04 Sport Trac!
