Not the most important feature of our cars, but have you guys checked out the range of the key fob?

I park in a huge 7-story open-air concrete parking structure. One day I forgot where I parked. I was on top level of garage (7th floor) and clicked the remote and heard my horn beeping far away. I went down 1 floor at a time and clicked remote and heard horn louder each time -- car was 4 stories down on the 3rd floor!

Yeah it's crazy. Just be ye careful as that transmitter can be screened a long ways off.

mine has horrible range I'm jealous. When i was in high school I could remote start my truck from the third floor of the building 2-300 yards away, my stang won't touch that

Isn't 4 stories just about 40-50 feet? :D ;)

I have had this as well. Several times with the fob in my pocket or even in my hand waiving it inches from the door handle it fails to unlock.

Unfortunately this isn't a good thing, easy to intercept the signal between the two.

Really? Because my key fob won't do a thing at more than 50-100 feet away sometimes. The range sucks imo. Anyone know how to get to the batteries?

Take the cover off, stick a flat head screwdriver in the tab at the top and pry a little, pry on either side and separate the plastic piece from the button housing. Tada.

Thanks, range has been crappy since I got the car new in November so maybe they gave me bad batteries.
