Those that purchased the EB 2.3 I4 with A/T are now having buyers regret, huh? Should have saved a bundle, especially if you opted for the Convertible and ordered the 3.7 V6. All that Ford "PR" and now a bit of a fizzle rather then a "pop".
I haven't bought anything yet, but I really enjoyed my test drive EB Auto. I haven't drove the v6, but I am a sucker for heated seats and touch screen interfaces so it's not an option. If I bought an Auto EB I'd be perfectly happy with it as a DD. Although, I didn't go into my test drives thinking the EB would drive like the GT. You'll just be disappointed if you do, but if you go into it expecting a fun 310 hp sport coupe, you'll enjoy it.

I have a 1.5 year old and my only hesitation is whether I'd regret only two doors. I keep going back and forth between the Mustang and a BMW 328i which seems to offer similar performance to the EB. I probably won't purchase until spring, so I have a ton of time to keep changing my mind every week. :)

Edit: To your point about Auto, the first two cars I drove were GT PP and EB PP and then I strongly preferred the GT. When I drove the EB in Auto I actually like it better, believe it or not.

A ecoboost even with the auto... is no slouch.... I am getting the 5.0 but driving that eco, I was shocked at the handling characteristics they did not have performance package but did have the 20" wheels... that eco kicked ass for the one I drove

OK I'm confused on something.

There is S mode with the gear selector and then S+ with the drive mode toggle selector.

I thought S gear selector was when you wanted to use the paddle shifters.
I thought S+ drive mode made the car shift automatically but with different timings then normal D mode.

Can someone clarify?

D mode is your typical auto setting that can be temporarily overridden with the paddles. You can also adjust its settings using the various toggles (altering shift pattern, throttle mapping, and traction thresholds).

S acts like D with more aggressive adjustments for the auto shift behavior. Using paddles in this mode will prevent any automated shifting unless the user slots the lever back into D. Just like in D, you can adjust other various settings outside of shift behavior using the toggle switches.

The only thing I'm unclear of concerns the automated behavior in combination with the toggles. My guess until an owner can chime in:

Lever in D while drive mode is in sport/sport +: same shift points as S while all other settings like throttle mapping and traction threshold are more aggressive.

Lever in S while in comfort mode: same high shift points with less aggressive throttle mapping and traction thresholds.
