After around 5,100 miles, our GT500 is averaging 12.4 mpg. That includes a low of 7.8 (that was mostly running errands with a bit of fun) and a high of 21.6 where we squeezed out 314 miles on a single tank. That was a boring stint behind the wheel.

All our tanks have been run on 91 octane, because California.
I upgraded my 2020 Mustang GT500 CFTP to E-85!!!

By that MPG reading you need to learn how to have some fun haha
Raced many many cars and Shelby truck smoked him @148 and these things shut down at @160 so my Hellcats will take her eventually:wink:. And yeah Iā€™m amazed at the MPG but my Hellcats get 16-18 running them hard as well. And if you baby the non RedEye Charger Hellcat your in the 20s mpg. The Redeye being 797 and wider tires shes 20 at best so far.

Some data points for yā€™all:
Since new: 11.2 MPG (includes the track event below)
COTA event last weekend:
ā€” 160 miles total to/from event = 20 MPG ave.
ā€” 90 miles on track = 3.38 MPG (thatā€™s ~one lap per gallon)
After first session: 1/2 tank remaining!
Second session: Low fuel warning at 3 laps, did one more lap and gauge had disappeared behind the ā€œEā€; I pitted so as to not run out on track. Fill up took 12 gallons, so there is some slop in the gauge readings.
3rd & 4th sessions: Exactly the same thing happened.
Of note: filled with 103 octane ($7.99/gal) after 2nd session to see if it drove different in sessions 3 & 4. Absolutely no difference noted (except the hit to my wallet).
Lessons learned: Cannot do two sessions on one tank at COTA. I could do 3 sessions in my GT350.

Very interesting data, as in HFS, remember Speed Phenom's track testing he said the only downfall of the car was it's fuel consumption and the size of the gas tank.

Like the cars! normally not a fan of stripes etc but the charger looks good with them. Not saying they can't get good gas mileage but they shouldn't haha. When I pick up my GT500 I will have about 120 miles of freedom before I hit a state that is known for tickets. Then after that state I am free again. My goal for when I get home is under 15 MPG.

I try to keep it semi tame for the first 1k miles. There are arguments both ways on how to break in a car and I don't know which is correct. I try to do the safe route just in case. If I did it on the other side my goal is obviously sub 10 mpg.

Brandon: "Your mileage may vary," as they say. :-) But this I know for a fact. If you're over 1000 miles, any time you go to WOT you are gobbling fuel. I've figured out that's what happened with me. I took it easy for 1000 and got 15mpg and higher.

But after 1000, I got more aggressive with the throttle and it dropped to 10.4 :-)

So I expect that's the range in which you will find yourself on the trip.

Thanks Brandon and Congrats on the GT. I had initial reservations on the so called 100 mile break in lol which yeah I got into her but not for an extended period of time. Enjoy and you will accomplish your Mpg goal I am sure.

Speed limits must be frustrating. Top speed 204 on the Autobahn (sorry, no pic of that one). Can literally see the gas gauge moving at that speed. What's that you say? Turning/handling. Hey, stop that!

I like to disassemble things.
On my 1,000+ mile trip home from the dealer I was having to fill up at just over 200 miles per tank.
