It's funny but I am beginning to realize that the best and most practical places to own a convertible are the midwest and northern states.... We do not get the 100 degree summer heat (may for a week) and the nights are 70 degrees, the sun goes down and it is great top down weather from April thru October.... we just don't have the temp extremes or the sun beating down on us all of the time... Winter is another story.... but storing it just make it more satisfying to get it out in the spring.. I wonder how many GT Verts Ford produces each year vs the eco/v6 rental cars...

I just got back to Florida from a trip to upstate New Your and was surprised by the lack of what I see as common cars here. South Florida has a ton of Mustangs, BMWs, Mercedes and Tesla cars all over the place. We have so many M series BMWs the Mustang is considered the more exotic car.

I live in Homestead and go to Key Largo/Islamorada for weekend dinner pretty frequently. Long before I got my Mustang, my wife and I were counting the convertibles, which she christened "Keys cars." We have counted close to 100 on drives back and forth. The no-smoking stickers and bar codes are a dead give-away. Also, rental cars don't have license plate holders, just bare plates. There are a few owners driving them around, but most of the non-rental Mustangs I see are fastbacks. And of course, all of the GT's.

Friend of mine left Florida 15 years ago, him and his wife in their '69 Mach 1.
Said he'd NEVER go back.
When they left is when the tourists were being killed at the intersections for not moving quick enough.
A few years back; Chuck and wifey went back for a visit.
They hadn't been in the area for years and as they sat at a redlight, someone two cars up from them got blown away.
Later that day Carole had told Chuck she'd like to move back to Florida.
Chuck said; and go thru what happened in front of us the other day?
He says; Carole asks, "what happened?"

Like I said, we stopped counting at 45 Stangs/ all verts, most of them red or white. About half as many Camaros. Stayed at Amara Cay in Islamorada, one nite in Key West. If I had continued to count all the up to Delray I'm sure I would have clocked close to a hundred

Ha I’m from key largo. Lived there 17 years, my dad ran the strip club in marathon for forever til he died. The place is a shit hole now.

I also went back this summer to drop his ashes and saw countless mustangs. I like them tho. So it’s a plus

I actually think it's too damn hot and sunny here for a convertible. No way! This angry sun is already too much here 11 1/2 months out of the year.

I just got back from a road trip from SC to Stuart FL to visit family. The Mustangs out numbered Camaro and Challenger by a large margin. I was amazed at how many more Mustangs were on the road. These were not rentals either as most were coupes.

When I got back I got my car serviced at Tindol Ford, the number 1 Roush dealership in the world and top 5 Mustang dealership in the US.

2 Bullitt Mustangs on the lot and always shitload of Roush Mustangs and Roush F150.

This is a must see dealership for any Mustang enthusiast. About 30 minutes from Charlotte, and 1.5 hours from Asheville and the blue ridge mountains.
Asheville through the Blueridge Mountains is an amazing area to drive through with all those twisty mountain roads. I'd love to have a manual trans if driving through there. The Tail of the Dragon is a must drive if you are in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I actually got sick driving it the last time I was through there.

Tail of the Dragon is amazing. Did it in my old GT around 2007.

I live in homestead and frequent the keys very often. Never really paid that much attention until after reading this thread. Went down to key largo for dinner tonight and was amazed at how many convertible mustang rentals we saw.
