On street a little fun here and there but keeping in on the DL 'cause the PD's always looking at you and the rest are just really bad drivers. Keeps the possible telephone/power pole situation as a very very remote chance.

Haha, I certainly don’t intend to, I don’t think anyone intends to. I grew up at the race track (2 wheels mostly, some 4) and completely agree with what you’re saying. I also am aware that sometimes things go wrong, good driver or not. I can say I don’t ever do stuff for crowds or go to cars n coffee, if anything happens with me it’s by myself in the middle of nowhere. Still, it can happen. Luck favors the prepared.

I never planned on showboating on my motorcycle on the street, I still wore my helmet.

I am curious what the significant differences are with a GT500 when they’re used on the track. Or maybe they have heat issues too?

Ford Performance hood strut. Weight added for ease of life. But I took the prop rod off and it was the exact same weight down to the 1 billionth of an ounce so we’re good.

I'd like to say Ford really dealt with heat on the track with the Mach I and the GT500. The GT's with PP1 or 2 still need heat management as you get better, faster. I added heat wrap on the exhaust near the rear, some air deflectors for heat on the front rotors and upgraded the transmission oil cooler last year due to trans overheating. So far so good.

You are in the right company here! Get out on the track for a season see how things run. I didn't have any serious heat issues until I got better and faster. 3 years in I still open the door to the garage look at the Mustang and smile.

You can see my Ford Performance sway bars if you look just right. They are part of the track suspension kit I installed. I love them. I will say I added them at the same time as the shocks/struts/springs so I can’t comment heavily on them alone, but as a package… Se si bon.

This is my horrible attempt of a picture of my Steeda Extreme G-Trac K member brace. I don’t like the name, I don’t like install even more. Holy sweet baby Jesus that was difficult to get on.

I’ve added a ton of Steeda stuff to my car and the chassis is so stiff now a wheel comes off the ground when I back out of my driveway. It didn’t used to do that. The bigger difference (and more importantly) is in the turns. I love it.

I am embarrassed to admit I do not know exactly what coolers the GT500 has, but I am sure there are auxiliary coolers to help with heat management on the track. I thought about adding coolers to my 2016GT but that would have involved a lot of work that I really just did not want to do. Bought the Mach 1 instead and I could not be happier. The main problem with the Procharger is the big ass intercooler sitting at the front of the cooling stack. I have sealed and ducted the stack, but alarmingly high CHT's come about quickly at the track.

Depending on what track(s) you plan on driving, you might be happy w/a ported manifold (or GT350), long tube headers, ECU tune (Wengerd!!!!!), and E85. These cars are no slouch at the track.

That’s a fair point I embarrassingly forgot. I’ve gotten a bit down a well with my own personal car and forgot all about others . Also, on two wheels it’s extremely rare to have heat issues, including long hard track days in the southwest of America, in the middle of summer. This is all relatively new to me, I appreciate the insight.

If I could be honest, the whine of a supercharger (street is a factor for me as well, including the joys of the sounds of the car) is MUCH better than my car smelling like the fry basket at McDonalds.

That being said, if the main concern is heat of the blower, would a hood with a heat extractor not significantly help? What hood do you run?

I have the stock hood and some Race Louvers that are/were going to be put on. Now that I have the Mach 1, I do not track the GT.

I also HPDE my 2019 GTI (decently modded) and I did buy a spare hood. I put the Race Louvers on, upgraded the radiator, sealed/ducted the cooling stack, and have not had heat issues with it.

This isn’t really a mod per-say…

I had the entire front end of my car off and saw the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Then I thought to myself, I don’t need that… so I removed it. And this is where it was.
