Well it's official, soon I will own my first American car.

My 328i lease is nearing its end and since BMW's only enthusiast cars have M badges now ($$$$$), S550 here I come. I stopped at my local dealer the other day and placed an X-Plan (MCA) order for a:

'15 GT Premium, Fastback, 401A
Deep Impact Blue
68B Interior (ebony)
20" Wheels
6AT
3.55 Diff
Park Assist
Navigation
Spoiler Delete

Guessing it will be here somewhere in April or early May. Waiting on my DORA now... can't wait to start obsessing over blend dates and EDDs!!

So I placed my order on the 6th and I have been trying to get the DORA and the dealer emailed me this morning and said nothing yet, but it should be available tomorrow. Does that sound right? No DORA until a week after ordering? :shrug:

Welcome to M6G..........and a great choice, and you've specified it pretty much how I would, too, so clearly a man of great taste ;)

Please ensure you post up you impressions of the Mustang once you get it. It's good to hear of BMW enthusiasts joining the Mustang family.

My daily driver is an E46 330i, so I have a foot in both BMW and Mustang camps

Thanks! Pretty excited. I actually rented an Ecoboost Premium for a few days to "live" with it and was very happy. Steering feel is way better than my F30 & handling was on par. Great interior too, way more solid than my F30. So other than the engine and some trim options I pretty much know what I'm getting and it should be great

I walked out of the dealer with my DORA in hand. He (the sales guy) put it into the computer while I was sitting there. Don't know why you should have such a delay.

I placed my order last Monday. I don't have a DORA. My sales guy was expecting to give it to me late last week. I had read others had it the day they walked out. Not sure if this is a new thing or I should insist more.

Just got my Order# today. COTUS says order date of 2/12 even though I paid my deposit and did all this with the dealer on 2/2. Not sure if this got caught up in the whole Ford not taking orders thing I've been reading about or my dealership just waited 10 days to place it...

Yeah exactly the same here. They've got my check but I've got no DORA. I'll keep on em.

Yeah that was the biggest thing I took out of test driving the V8... all the noise was up front, nothing out back. Think I may be going with the FRPP Touring Catback as the 2nd mod (after tint)

Lol yep happens all the time. I have a business trip coming up this year to the original Melbourne, not sure I want to fly out of my local airport for that one... Melbourne to Melbourne... I can just see the luggage handling clusterf*ck that would come from that :lol:
