Pedalmax just increases the throttle sensitivity. So when you barely push in the pedal the vehicle "thinks" you're at a 100% throttle rather than 5%. It's just tricking the sensors.

Again any handheld tuner can make these adjustments and fine tune them a lot better than this device along with a whole set of other features and tune parameters. The pedalmax and boostmax is a waste of money, combined they cost more than a handheld tuner which is far superior to this crap and does what they do a 1000x better and actually tunes the ecu.

I wouldn't buy the BoostMax or Tune + or any of that stuff for your EcoBoost. Not worth the risk!!

This is a pretty bold claim associating my company with risk. TUNE+ isn't a product, it is the name of my company and I have tuned more Ecoboost Mustangs than any other tuner to date.

This feedback thread sure looks a lot different than the TUNE+ review thread.

Just warning people man. It's a risk adding boost to these cars and I think we all know it. As far as your rep as a tuner I don't personally know from experience but I've heard great things about how you work with people to get it right. I'm sure you're a good dude and offer the best service you can. With that said we're all doing others a disservice if we're not honest about the risks.

You have the same risk even when you keep the car stock. There have actually been more reported engine failures on completely stock vehicles than modified/tuned vehicles.

I 100% believe that my bone stock Ecoboost Mustang tune is SAFER than the factory tune. I have safeguards put in place for LSPI via boost, load, and transmission control.

I'm talking more about the risk of having warranty troubles. If it's bone stock with no tune or modules then you get a new motor at no cost to you. Have even the smallest mod like a CAI and you run a risk. Have a tune or boost module and you're pretty much screwed. Let's hope that Ford is realizing the issue and starting to take care of people regardless of the tune. You and I know of 1 customer of yours with a stock motor and your stock tune that is having his engine replaced under warranty. Until he gets his car back and posts his story publicly I won't paste the quotes he sent me from some of your conversations. What I already knew and what you told him have helped make a lot more sense of the issue and that Ford is perhaps starting to acknowledge it at least in the form of honoring the warranties on modded cars.

I wish I hadn't had any problems. The JMS modules where just a stop gap until I did some other upgrades that required a tune. Was planning on using you over Livernois which is local to me because I had heard about how well you work with your customers and make changes until the tunes are right. So I'm in no way trying to bash you or any other tune or product. I just feel obligated to make sure people understand the risks involved. I knew of the inherit risk before I started. I just had no idea these engines had issues and I was increasing my risk. If I had known I would've done things differently for sure.

We do the absolute same thing for our clients. We have also done so without a single client vehicle failure.

I don't trust any of those JMS gizmoes. All they do is blindly turn up the boost without taking anything else into account. As LMS said in a previous post, doing that is asking for trouble. I'm sure NOT one tuner on this forum goes about doing that.

the tuners on this board are very good at what they do! Now they will at some point have a motor go boom. But when stock cars go boom also. A certain small % of motors will have issues no matter stock or tuner tune. Do I want to tune? Yes. I want because I don't wont to pay for a motor. So 100% stock. Would feel the same if 5.0, that just me.

So since the Pedalmax just increases the throttle sensitivity... I know some vehicles owned by performance shops who have the pedalmax as well. Is there any harm if you have that installed with a Tune?

The PedalMax is also very easy to remove if you did have an engine issue or any other reason to take the car to the dealer. BoostMax is not so easy to remove but can be done. They're both warranty friendly if you remove them before you go into the dealership with a blown engine  I still do not recommend the BoostMax, I will recommend PedalMax though.

If you have any type of tuner, it can do exactly what the pedalMAX does. There are throttle input tables on all devices. Cobb, SCT, HPT, LMS.

There's a better version on American muscle called speed booster, it gives you 3 driving modes, but like Adam said, tune can do sand thing

yeah I have a Tune and it performs how it should, however since installing the pedalmax I do like how quickly it accelerates....plus knock on wood there's no downside to the pedalmax....that's as far as I will go. No boostmax or the other product by American muscle. Not sure why you need the 3 modes as the car already is those in stock.
