Oh, so it's legal in California now!!!
lol, maybe you shouldn't broadcast your crime. But, I'm sure you only use it on the track.

BTW I'm not criticizing you. I hate our nanny regs!

What made you go with JLT over Roush or others with similar pricing? Not a loaded question, I promise. I'm looking at CAIs as well, and it looks like JLT is priced same as Roush and Steeda, among a few others.

IMO the design of the JLT seems to have 1 thing in mind...air flow...the other only have one thing in mind...and that's using existing parts from their GT or EB CAI's, leading them to cheap out on the inlet tube, with either sharp bends, or tube size changes. the JLT is purpose designed for the v6, and the pipe has the best design for maximum flow imo...and it doesn't use a airbox, with is limited to pulling air from the snorkel at the front...if your gunna use one of those types, might as well use the stock intake imo. the jlt looks well thought out. id love to see some dyno number on one

Yeah, it looks like they have a duct to the front grille, which makes sense to me. The JLT web page has a lot of detail and choice.http://jlttruecoldair.com/ZenCart/i...nfo&cPath=524_525_445_446_449&products_id=686

Well for starters, rough design was not attractive imo. The JLT intake is the biggest intake on the market right now for the 6 along with the design it's very sleek underneath the hood. Not to the mention the deeper tone I have now with a full catback outlaw exhaust, it's great

I went with Roush because I wasn't planning on tuning for a while and I didn't want to bother with JLT's oiled filter. Roush is a dry filter and makes it 1 less car chore to take care of.

People talking about bends and airflow...you're min/maxing over such small advantages if any at all. It's not like you're going to get more air with a box or not - the grille air holes are the same size anyways. I'm not saying people are wrong, just take in all the info you find, process it and decide for yourself.

that's why it doesn't matter which boxed setup you use, they are all limited by the same factor. bends most certainly matter....is it 20hp? no, but its not nothing either.

jlt isn't limited by the snorkel in the box, and doesn't have any tight bends or ribbed sections....and it doesn't look like a$$ lol how often do you really need to clean a oiled filter....not very often unless you live in the desert and have serious dust issues. to each their own, but that's my opinion

hell I don't even have a jlt, but just knowing what works and what doesn't, theirs is the best design imo. I run my own custom intake nf's given..lol

That's fair.

If we're talking stock you are not limited by the snorkel alone, but your grille's holes as the first thing that lets air in. So unless you do a grille delete the inlet airflow will be the same with a snorkel or not.

Again, good point on location. I live in Canada and daily it all year. I, personally, will not be doing a grille delete due to shit on the ground in winter (namely salt).

Basically, if you're wondering which CAI to get, these are some good points to consider before you buy.

Even without a grille delete, or added holes, the snorkel draws it air from the main grill opening moslty. Good points though....wouldnt want salt spray getting all up in there

It looks like you can buy the JLT with a dry filter if you buy it directly from their website.
