JLT CAI and Opened Hood Vents

I want to run the JLT CAI and would like to leave the hood vents open. Has anybody done this? I thought I saw someone doing this.

I've cut the hood open to match the Roush hood vents

You will get water in the air box. That said as long as you keep the drain hole open in it shouldn't be an issues.

I can say that if your filter gets soaked from the water pouring down through the vents, you will have problems drain hole or not.
Filter gets soaked, MAF even gets wet. You will get lurching, farting, and a cel.
Everything will need to be dried out.
Ask me how I know this!

Whipple air box has a lid, and frankly I never see any signs of water in there.

Just buy a JLT pre-filter. It won't restrict airflow and ads a level of water proofing.
