First time you don't get all your fingers out of the way of the door that you're gonna have to half-slam to make sure it shuts will be the last time you'll use it.
How many times would you put up with it taking two or more attempts to fully shut the door? How many times from the half-catch position would you simply say to yourself 'screw it' and shut the door without worrying about leaving any fingerprints or palmprints?
If you're that worried about fingerprints, keep something like a thin glove or a cloth handkerchief handy instead.
