Hi,

Which ones would you recommend ?
I need a set so I can install all the future mods :)

There are many brands available but it is hard to find reviews.
Are they all the same ?
SCA, Omega, Armstrong, Stanfred, Orcon, Kincrome, Liftech, Tradequip

I don't want to buy a cheap one for sure because I have no intention to become a pool of blood haha.

According to the picture, does it mean I need 6 jack stands ? Or 4 is enough to lift the car entirely ?

Cheers,
Marko.

In the past I've used whatever cheap stands I had. Never thought about it much. Never had an issue. Now that I'm older it worries me a bit, especially given the last set of SCA ones I had were recalled after I'd been using them for years.

I also realised my trolley jack is only rated for 1tonne a couple of weeks ago. I bought it many years ago when I had an MX-5 as it was one of the few I could find that would fit under it and the whole car only weighed ~980kg so it was fine. Over the years that slipped my mind and I've been using it with the Pajero. Only one corner at a time to change a wheel but still, maybe not the best choice.

I'm thinking I need new stands and trolley jack for when the Mustang arrives so I'll be interested to see what people suggest.

I'm actually thinking about buying some of the Ranger Quickjacks: https://www.quickjack.com.au/car-hoist-systems.html

Not cheap would be very convenient. and if you're paying $400 for a full set of stands and $300 for a good jack then you're a good way towards the Quickjack anyway.

EDIT: Oh and you only need 4 stands, they're just the recommended points.

I bought one from Costco and I think its $179. I will recommend that one and jack stands 3000 KG or 2500 KG will do the job..

I've seen the Costco jack recommended before. Is it a regularly stocked item? I never remember to look when I go.

I've seen people recommending that one too but the trolley is rated at 1800kg. It is about the same weight as the Mustang.

I think it's better to have a margin just in case. So I didn't consider it :/

You're not going to lift the whole car at once with it so 1800kg is plenty with a margin IMO. You're likely to jack up one side of the car to get stand under it so it's unlikely it'll need to lift more than 1000kg at a time, probably less.

And once the car up in the air you using 3000 kg Jack stand on each side so there's plenty of margin there and jack for extra safety.
