Oh really? So if ford bump the price of a stock GT to 40k then everyone would pay the higher tax? But still pay the price they ordered at??
Yep true

But the current price of £35745 includes first years tax and delivery charges. So at under 34.5k now it would have to be a heck of a rise on the base price...

watch those options :)

I'm now a little confused.

My order with the dealer says that the cost of the car excluding VED/RFL was under £40k, and VED was £1175. This was back in July last year.

Now I know that there has been one or maybe two price increases since I placed my order (thou the dealer has been quiet so far on the increases), so come delivery time am I paying the price on my order form or the new price (current configuration has the increase at £730 over past year).

I guess it's a call to my dealer tomorrow!

You'll pay what's on your order, there's a clause in it regards taking the car within 3 months of delivery to the dealer IIRC. VED though is the exception, as Ford don't control what governments do with their tax systems.

Well that's a good start, I'll still put a call in to the dealer re:

And it's the current list price on the day you register it not what you paid :)
That may mean there is no point waiting for 1st April. Spider where did you get the info from?

Yours is touch and go, depends how much they knock off for delivery. Assuming yours is a manual, current list is £41,425 less VED and delivery.

Don't forget, you know more than the dealer.

Snail mail!!!

Delivery is just Southampton to Dealership, or Dealership to home (depending if you've paid for the latter)

If the list price of you car minus the road tax and delivery charge on April 1st 2017 is going to be less than 40k then you would be better off financially registering it in April. If it is greater than 40k you would be financially better off registering it in March.

I was in contact with the DVLA in May last year. The call centre were a bit sketchy at the time over the changes but afterwards I got a comprehensive email response. Give them a ring I bet they're up to speed now.

I will have to watch for Ford price rises!! Luckily my list price remains well below at the moment (£37,205 at order (24/06/16), now £37,925) delivery is a massive £0.... so I may have a long wait!!

you don't need to worry - you will pay the price shown on your order form as you are "protected" by the Ford price promise. it is stated clearly on the price list.

The price promise specifically excludes any changes in VED though!
