This is probably old news to some, but I ran across a tip online that said to keep a small spray bottle in your car filled 2/3 with rubbing alcohol, and 1/3 with water, and to spray it on an iced over windshield to very quickly melt the ice away.
I've tested the spray on ice buildup on my cooking grill outside and it does indeed work pretty miraculously, however I'm hesitant to use it on the car since I'm not sure what effect (if any) it'll have on the rubber seal around windows, or paint, if any bit blows over on it.
The regular windshield fluid I think has a much lower concentration in it.
Keep in mind, this is just a spray bottle that's misting it out, not pouring out in any large quantities. And not spraying directly on the paint or vinyl stripes, just windshield.
So is rubbing alcohol spray safe to use without harming the clearcoat, or vinyl stripes? Would any tiny bit of overspray take wax off right away?
