Fionic, now you know how I feel with my dealer. I emailed him last week to see if I could add saddle seats to my order since it dawned on me that they were free. He said that it was already locked in and on its way to ford. I said...uh, then where is my VIN and build date? He didn't answer.
As long as you dont have a VIN and build date, your order can be changed. I changed my seats from Ebony to Ceramic last week, and they were happy to do so. Time to threaten to want that refund on your deposit and take your business to another dealer if they won't change your order to Saddle.

+1

I changed my color from Black to DIB about a week ago without any issues since I didn't have a VIN. (Still don't) they should be able to make changes to your order as well if you don't have a VIN either

Still don't have a VIN yet. My order will not show up in COTUS (since its for US orders only, since I'm in Canada)

I call BS.

I had a VIN and a build week, and I changed my order ( I added 50th appearance package). It also got updated on Cotus the following day. (It did disappear the day of the change though, had me worried.)

Of course, the sales manager is a friend, so perhaps that helped.

Emailed dealer to get priority changed, he said no changes could be made because the order was pulled for production. Doesn't that mean I should have a build date?
haha, shit.

well, my guy has been pretty cool about everything. hasn't told me anything wrong yet. I'll withold judgement for now... Hopefully the priority doesn't affect the scheduling THAT much. (there are only 2 mustangs that ordered before me and they both have VINs already).
If it's pulled it has a VIN & build date, so if you don't he just told you something wrong..

Searched around all the Ford media sites (Facebook, Flat Rock Operations, Ford Corporate, etc.) and found no announcements of 2015 Mustang production (MP2/Job #1) starting today. No evidence on COTUS or ETIS of any scheduled orders moving into the production stage either but that could just be due to updates not hitting the sites yet.

One thing of interest that I found is that the Flat Rock shutdown last week was due to Fusion sales. Perhaps this will kick start faster ramp up of Mustang production.

Hopefully production did start today, but evidence is lacking at this point. You would think that Ford would make some sort of an announcement for start of production on a 50th anniversary product since so very few make that milestone. Corvette, any others?

Based on what's been shared between Topnotch's post and the "in production" screen shot, evidence doesn't appear to be lacking :) Various comments from Ford people on the plant tour last week hinted that final approval to proceed to start was imminent. If I were in their shoes, I'd not make a public statement until I was sure the production process was going as expected after the next few days.

...The only evidence of this I have seen so far is another member posting cotus screenshot that his order is in production. Unless I have missed others...

I missed seeing that post. Would have been nice to let us see the VIN or at least the last 6 digits.

As I said, I've been digging around in COTUS and have looked at around 30 or so GTs from *5300001 to *5301000 range and other than the Barrett-Jackson car have found none that have moved into production.

Found a "hit" on COTUS - now I'm a believer.

1FA6P8CF3F5300900 - Competition Orange

Things in common with the other screen shot - 20" wheels & 401A.

And another: 1FA6P8CF7F5300902 - Black with just 401A

One more: 1FA6P8CF4F5300906 - Black with 401A and NAV

Looked up quite a few more - saw no GTPP at any trim level in production (except B-J car)

Note: EcoBoosts are still NOT showing up on COTUS, for example, 1FA6P8TH9F5300921 is an EcoBoost confirmed on http://www.etis.ford.com

I got it off my phone. It moved into "In Production" but doesn't say when "In Order Processing" was completed.

EDIT: Nevermind, lol.
