Yep, had that happen with my '15 Ecoboost PP. Mostly kid boys...their video games have ingrained into their young, impressionable minds that S550 'Stang=Shelby GT350 :D You'd be surprised how many (racing genre) video games feature the new Shelby GT350/GT350R...
That's true. Forza 6 is one of them.

16P51-GT,

How is the Roush hood scoop attached? Saw a fairly new GT on a dealer lot with some dealer added parts and the hood scoop was already coming "up" with a big gap at one end and exposed double sided tape. Screws/bolts used or just body tape?

It's a combination. It uses tape, but it's also drilled and screwed on. So far, no issues with mine.

Hello there neighbor

So, I don't know if it's just me but I'm often asked by non-Mustang owners if my car is a Shelby. With my 2012, I could kind of understand why it was happening because of the stripes. I intentionally put "MUSTANG GT" rocker stripes on the car when I first got it so I wouldn't get that question. But, it didn't help.

My 2016 looks nothing like a Shelby but I've already gotten asked by someone if it was a Shelby. So, I'm just wondering if other people get asked this question a lot because I'm considering doing a video on my YouTube channel specifically for non-Mustang owners to learn how to spot the difference. Being asked this question has turned in to an inside joke between me and my brother. Sometimes at car shows we just ask people if their car is a Shelby, whether it's a Mustang or not. We're just immature like that, haha!

Anyways, let me know if any of you have ever been asked this. Thanks!

My old 2012

My new 2016

Thanks :coolphotos:

Local example is on a dealer lot where they "add on" at a high mark up but are not the smartest in doing so...willing to bet they installed via tape only to avoid drilling a new car. I appreciate the clarification.

Yeah, I was visiting my brother who lives in Hampton and we went to the park to take some pics of our cars. My brother and I did the CAI install ourselves. It's pretty easy to do. The intake doesn't technically require a tune, but I'd suggest still getting one done. I got my car tuned at DynoTuned Performance in Chesapeake. I have a video on my channel showing it getting tuned. If you want some help with the install of the CAI, private message me your info and we can set something up. Thanks!

You're welcome. Yeah, if it was coming up they probably did just use the tape. Installed properly, that shouldn't happen.

Did you cut out the insert from within your air raid intake before tuning it? If you didn't, your intake isn't doing anything for you.

I didn't. I've heard mixed results. Some people say it makes a difference and some say it's only worth doing if you're heavily modded because the insert isn't a restriction. I may do it next time I take my car to the shop and see what difference I notice. It'll make for an interesting video for my channel anyways. Have you done it? And if so, what difference did you get from it? Thanks.

The kid across the street, probably about 18 years old, asked me how I like my Shelby today. Said that he loved it. He thought since it was blue and looked a little different than the older Mustangs around that it was a Shelby. He really didn't know much about vehicles, but is enthusiastic about them. He was pretty impressed with the lifted Jeep's ability in the snow we just got too.
