I'm keeping my car for as long as possible. I can see at least a good 10 years of ownership. I currently still own my '07 F150 after 10 years of ownership and I still love my truck! I'm pretty sure I will enjoy many years and miles out of my 5.0. When I get bored with it, I'll change it up a bit, maybe new wheels, interior work, or hell even wrap it to keep it looking fresh. This car will still look bad ass ten years from now no doubt about it!

While the trend would suggest this is true, we do not know this man's son. He may be a responsible for his age kinda kid. May have been raised around high powered vehicles and respects the power and the opportunity.

My son will be 16 in August. I know him and he respects what he is given. There will be a day when I may let him take the Mustang out for a drive. He wants his own Mustang though, a Foxbody, for his first car.

And to answer the question, yes I will be keeping it for a while. Have to till I am right side up on trade LOL
best quote I have ever seen on this site!

I'll probably keep my car for about 3 years, which only equates to about 10,000 miles (about 3k/year) of weekend driving, etc.... It's what I've done with my last few play cars. (3rd vehicle)

In my country to get a mustang you need to place a special order with the dealer. It took 6months for my car to arrive. Ford here has sold only 3 in the whole country the 3 of them are mustangs Gt only mine has the PP. When i bought it was with the intention of always keeping it. But only God knows i hope he favors me!

what does that mean? he has a 4.35 GPA out of 4 & hopefully will be attending Auburn to be a veterinarian. Quietest/shyest person I know!
Well having a 4.35gpa if true would put him in the .01% that wouldn't be a d-bag with that kind of car before even graduating HS

My highschool is ranked #8 of almost 1,000 in PA, and when I was there it was quite a task to find someone who wasn't a spoiled d-bag with daddy's car

Edit: for the record I was given a car my senior year too, but it only had 160hp :(. I somewhat doubt it would have turned out well if it had been this car though

Its ridiculous to assume his son will be "d-BAG" if he lets him have or drive his car. Good thing we don't assume things about you driving an Auto EB :headbonk:

my 16 y/o stepson drives a BMW 2006 325i & my 17 y/o daughter a 2016 Ford Escape to school . My 1st car in 1991 was an 83 Ford Escort 4 speed. Got bored so we painted it blue metallic in a friends barn. Gutted the convertor, installed a cheap blue glasspack muffler, cheap Sears rims/tires. Wish I had pics! Imagine this car modded like above. :gossip:

Yes my kids are spoiled but they deserve it. I spent almost 3 years of my life in the middle east from 2006 to 2010 away from them.

Oh gosh. This thread has taken a turn. Let them do what they want. It's their car. If they get on here 6 months later with the thread "Son wrecked car 2 days after I gave it to him" we can all laugh and cry and move on with our lives. It's his money. His son. His car. He obviously believes enough in him to bestow such a great car on him. And it sounds like the kid is trust worthy enough for it.

Those cars sound more like the norm. Thanks for your service.

Oh yes, I think it might be time. I have an '05 (the first year of the 550 body style I believe) that I bought when it was a year old. 11 years and I still love it.

I'm not in a hurry though, it took me years to get mine where I want it to be. Lowered with a Saleen suspension, 20" Foose wheels, quarter window louvers, and a custom Alpine stereo. And a grand total of 85K miles. No rush.

I will consider a 2017 if I don't care for the new style but that's hard to tell from photographs isn't it?
