I have a 2105 pp GT. It's running between 203-207f. Does that seem right? After a normal ride, I open the hood and it is like an oven. I always ran 160 or 170 degree thermostats I'm my other 5.0s. This is my 1st coyote. Can anyone explain. Is a 170 thermos the right move without affecting run quality etc. please advise. Car runs great otherwise.

Most modern V8s run around 200-210 so that is normal.

Thank you. That just seemed crazy to me. My truck runs much cooler. My fox bodies liked running 180. Will a lower. Thermos help?

Normal. I've seen it go as low as 186F if I'm coasting down a long hill, but most of the time its sitting between 200-213F. Even past summer, in houston's hot humid climate, the highest i saw it climb was maybe 213 in stop and go traffic.

That's a bit warm for a PP tho, Mine usually hovers around the 200 range but then again that can be attributed to humidity and driving habits. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see steady temps over 215-220.

I'd imagine with the larger radiator in the PP you'd be less likely to overheat too, no?
When I test drove the GT with 3.31 gears (non PP) I opened it up and it was hot as hell in there. My little 4 banger daily driver couldn't melt an ice cube fully warmed up lol.

Those are normal temps. I put in a 170 thermostat and lowered it to low 190's.
