Just in case anyone was still thinking USPS doesn't screw up orders and cause some delays ;)

my shift knob was something like 15-20 miles away......then they ship it 250 miles away LOL :headbonk: It will get here eventually haha.

i live in GA! hahaha, it went from you, to Atlanta, GA (like 20 minutes away), all the way to Dothan, Alabama for some reason. They'll probably redirect it BACK to GA. Seems like a waste of $$$ on their part to ship things to entirely wrong states. Someone probably didn't take it off a truck or something I guess.

When the collar gets there just send the other two knobs and t-shirt back with it. Saves on mailing.

Got my knob guys and it feels good. Only thing I don't like is it sits higher than the stock shift knob did. I think it is because the area in the knob where the collar goes up into is not deep enough so you have to turn the knob up a little bit to make room for the collar. Does this bother anyone else and how did you resolve it?

The diameter is much bigger than the stock knob, so that will make it sit a bit higher on its own.

The countersink on the bottom can't be too much deeper since the oem lockout collar has a lip on it, so if you countersink too deep, you still wouldn't be able to screw it lower since you'd jam up the reverse collar.

It's about as good as it's going to get with the stock shifter mechanism.

I agree with you on the first comment, however, on the second, you are wrong. If you spin the knob down another 1/4" the reverse lockout collar has to be able to slip up into the knob. It bottoms out in the knob and does not allow it to raise high enough to go into reverse. It has nothing to do with the lip on the collar touching or hitting anything. I know one of the solutions is to take a dremel to the collar and cut it down to half of its height so that it does not bottom out in the knob. I do not feel however I should have to take a dremel to my new Mustang over a shift knob. I guess I just thought the knobs would be made so that we could spin them down some more so it doesn't feel like we are driving big rigs.

are you using the lock nut provided? If so try using BLUE loctite instead. that will allow you to go the height of the nut lower. It's what I plan on doing. I've always put on my knobs with blue loctite and it lasts and stays in place. I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM one was put on this way with ford's love of "blue thread locker" that seems to be on every bolt in this dang car.

Call the point wrong, then proceed to prove the point is actually right?
