Intake replacement with EU bonnet

A lot of the replacement CAI appear to be for the US market as they are open topped to align with the bonnet vent [that doesnt exist on our Euro cars] ? Is there a benefit to fitting here or do they just seal tight to bonnet - or worse still do they just suck hot under bonnet air in?

Out of all the aftermarket intakes Injen looks best which is a sealed unit like stock.

The Roush and Airaid ones draw air from the standard intake position beside the headlamp.
