So my insurance company seems to be unable to get my premium right. They're saying 200$ a month for insurance at 30/60/25 after they finally got it showing correctly ... what are the rest of you Texas people paying?

$116 / Month w/$1000 collision deductible for a '15 GT. 36YO.

It went down $55 a year from my '15 Subaru WRX .......

I would not be afraid to shop around for better insurance. I use these guys and they always get me a smoking good deal on insurance for car, bike, and home. You can do everything through email if you choose. They broker for a majority of the big insurance companies and they don't charge you a dime if you decide to use them. They are awesome to deal with.

I should clarify that I have two cars on my policy and I have my homeowners insurance with the same company, so I get multi-car and multi-policy discounts. My total for auto insurance is $208/mo for both cars. The Mustang added $107 to the premium when I bought it.

TX has really hit and miss rates. I'm sure a lot of these other guys with these ultra low rates are married and have multiple cars so they are just saying what their mustang cost not their entire cost for insurance. It puts you at a disadvantage of you have one car and only drive. No discounts. Think of it this way. You get your own one bedroom apartment for $1000 a month and you've got to cover all the utilities yourself too. But you can get a roommate and get a two bedroom for $1200. Now you pay $600 a month and split the utilities. Insurance works in a Similar way. Robbiefrazier's insurance cost $208 a month but the Mustangs portion is only $107. If you got a single policy for the mustang it would probably still be closer to $200.

Unverifiable discounts - homeowner, college degrees, various affinity and partnership discounts.

Wife and I currently pay 111/month (KY Farm Bureau) for a 13 explorer and 07 tacoma, full coverage, 500 deductible. The 16 GT added 96/month. I thought that was an astronomical change for 36, married and kids, but I've done quite a bit of quoting and no one has beat it.

I had a ticket a few years ago, and an at-fault accident (single vehicle, snow squall, freak situation and huge amount of financial damage to the truck) in 2012 and in 2014 I hit a deer and had a $600 comp claim. I swear, deer are the the dumbest living creatures on earth and I f'n hate every one of them. We are infested with them in eastern KY, too. Driving at night is like playing a video game of dodge-em sometimes. I HATE DEER.

I do get a 40% discount for having the house with them too, but even state farm couldn't beat it (much to the chagrin of my SF agent buddy) including getting 25/15 discount on house and cars because I have life insurance with them. Part of the reason KFB has the best deal, I think, is because I'm an additional driver on my wife's policy since she had them before we got married and I jumped ship from american national.

I finally gave up and told farm bureau to add it on..and their internet was down, so I'll try again monday. I've still got another week of grace period.

Well after hours of trying to find the right policy... while this is being single, defensive driving cert, and good driving discount, and renters insurance.

I'm currently at:

152$ a month
500$ comp 1000$ collision

I find this extremely dissatisfying because i went from a GSR integra and a built RX7 and paying both full coverage of 130$ a month @500$ deductible at 50/100... To 1 vehicle, and paying 152$ a month... I understand each vehicle weighs differently.. but still..

I was insured with USAA for a long time, but they wanted $150 a month for less coverage.

Edit: also only car insured.
