change of alloy wheels = no charge

New Magnaflow exhaust = would not insure !

visited compare the big rat thing site and,

No problem with mods with most companies, Admiral came out best £230 - £280

Depending on legal cover, protected no claims, etc etc

I hope you guys are checking what your companies will pay out for in the event of needing to replace modified parts.

As I've mentioned before, one company I spoke to would cover me for a change of wheels, but would only pay out a maximum of £500 or 1% of the vehicle's value for mods. That wouldn't even cover ONE wheel, for me!

Make sure you ask questions!

Nah they just know you bake your cars so need to up the premium for it... (This is never getting old :ninja:!)

Be glad you guys can do mods, my insrauce seem to reject a fair few of them that I suggest.

Just tried to change my more than policy online to tell them about my axle backs, same as you, they wouldn't insure me! So called them up and basically it's because they don't insure performance modifications. I told them it was just a pair of black boxes and not a full system and was basically cosmetic and sound improvement only. The chap on the phone said this was fine and no change to the policy or price.

But, thinking about it now, could the ABs be classed as a performance enhancer? Although they sound the nuts, don't think there is any power gain

I think mine is noted on insurance as "exhaust system changes, cosmetic/no significant performance increase".

i was also hoping the fact that I've bothered to call up to declare the mod is a good thing, made a note of call time/name too.
