I just installed the Roush CAI and even without a tune (waiting for my Cobb in the mail) the butt dyno says it is noticeably quicker. Having not done my research as thoroughly as I thought I had, I was very surprised that it was not sealed. While idling the inlet air temp goes up dramatically, and even the head temp rises quite a bit.
Has anyone tried sealing it? I am thinking of wrapping the intake tube-box junction with gorilla tape lol.

It's a waste of time, it's just a tradeoff that you have to live with compared to the stock intake

We have discussed OEM air box vrs. CAI here extensively and the proven conclusion (before and after on a chassis dyno) is the stock box is an excellent design and with a drop-in filter such as a AEM or KnN provides a incremental increase in HP/TQ and the CAI while looking cool and having "noise" actually will yield a slight decrease in TQ.
