As much as I hate to start another transmission noise thread, I can't seem to find anything on this one.

I had the dreaded thump. That went away when I installed Steeda cradle bushing inserts. I believe I fixed all the other issues with the Blowfish bracket, Steeda short throw, braided line, and Steeda return spring.

Anyway, I get this noise at most shifts that sounds like the input shaft moving back and forth. I'm not 100% sure that's what it is, but that's what it sounds like.

It may've gotten quieter when I put lowering springs on the car. I didn't hear this noise when I had the thump, but it still could've been there and the thump was louder.

Any ideas? Fixes? I have some ideas, but it's not an issue I feel like just throwing money at.

I have an auto but I'm fairly certain my driveline thumping is related to sloppy backlash in the ring and pinon. I didn't really notice it until I got the suspension tightened up and thought my 1pc driveshaft would solve it. I think taking a tuned and modded car to the dealer at this point would be a waste of my time so i'm just going to live with it for now.

I have a lot of the same mods as you do, and have very little thump, thud or whatever it is called. Neutral to 1st but very minimal. Did the braided clutch line make a lot of difference for you in regard to clutch feel?

I just read your post again... You have the cradle inserts and I have the diff inserts. Maybe you should try them. Other people have reported it to tone down the thud. Tugger, did they help you?

It was worth it. It's a quick install; other than the bleeding. Think I pumped the pedal like 200 times! Anyway, as far as feel, it's more consistent. If you've ever driven a cable operated clutch, it's more like that. And for feel, I'd choose cable over hydraulic any day. It can be a little abrupt at times, but it just takes some clutch foot adjustment.

I got the one that Lethal Performance sells. I can't remember the brand name. If you do the install yourself, I HIGHLY recommend getting some long-reach hose pliers.

I missed the last part. My thud is completely gone. The bushing inserts fixed it. What I have now, sounds like when you take the input shaft and rock it back and forth.

Aaaaaaand I mislabeled the parts. I have the Steeda differential inserts, and the BMR IRS kit.
