Hello all,

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything related to ink so I'm hoping somebody can help. I have the Premium Package leather seats in Ceramic and just noticed a 2-3 inch pen mark on the inside fold of my driver's side seat. Normally this is an area I never see because I get into the car ass-first, just noticed it today when I went to clean and apply leather conditioner. I'm pretty sure it happened at the tint shop 2 weeks ago so it's dried in and I cleaned the inside the week before.

I can't get it out. I've tried regular leather cleaner (Adam's), rubbing alcohol, baking soda, hairspray, soaking it with vinegar, scrubbing it with dawn....I barely made a dent and am afraid to do damage with anything else. Does anybody here know of anything I can try that would work? I seems like it's soaked through the top coating of the leather, would a detail/upholstery shop have a leather-safe steam cleaner or something?

I rinsed it with water as best I could and put a lot of layers of Adam's Leather Conditioner over it in hopes that it'll become moist and I can absorb it with a microfiber.

Appreciate any help or thoughts.

If its in the material, its gonna be hard. This is why I never own a light interior car.

It sounds like you will need to paint the seat area over. Trying to use a chemical to remove the dyes of the ink will likely also remove the leather dyes and make the situation worse.

A long time ago Dry cleaners here in the US offered cleaning services for leather coats. I was a customer then with a white leather coat, it was stained a couple times and each time the finish was restored with leather paint. Today the only source I know of for such paints is: Angelus. I used their products to paint the top section of my base GT350 steering wheel bright red, and then used their sealer. It's held up well over the past 4k miles of use.

That's my suggestion. It would probably cost less than $20 and you'll have plenty left over for the future.
