Hopefully the shipping and logistics will also be ramped up to cope with the additional production.
With some ships only having a handful of cars, it seems it is shipping, not production, which is the current bottleneck.

I think these march built cars will be the test.... Most of us have been quoted pretty tight shipping timelines. If they do in fact turn up on time, it would appear that progress has been made in that aspect too.

Its annoying seeing the yanks ordering and receiving there cars within 11 -13 weeks. I hope this is true its about time they speed it up for us.

Lets hope everyone waiting to get on a boat gets on one of the upcoming. I certainly haven't waited as long as some on here but almost 2 months of sitting around not on a boat is enough for me.

I have noticed that all the usuals who have taken ownership are a lot more scarce on here these days, which is surely a good sign that the cars are worth the wait and a ton of fun to drive

I ordered early June last year and was told April build as well from my dealer and ford FB team. Haven't had any update though in over a month. It had better be built in April..

Mine was a very early March build and is currently at the docks at Baltimore, expected delivery date is late May (according to a message this morning from Ford AU FB)

The comment in the message about the time at the docks and ETA was "Generally your Mustang will remain at the docks for a minimum of 3 weeks. While there it will be treated with an anti-corrosive, be detailed and packaged up ready for the journey, and have its paperwork submitted so able to board the vessel. We hope to have your Mustang to you roughly 90 days from the build date"

Yes 90 days or more has been about the average... So far.

Quite a few of the mid march builds have been quoted 28th may delivery.... Which is pushing on a 70 day since build, delivery timeframe... Or nearly an entire month shorter than previously delivered cars. Will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Its something like 72 days for my car that they have allowed, and some later builds have also been notified of similar delivery times.... Meaning less than 70 days from build to delivery.

So either someones maths has failed them, or the process of shipping /transport has been improved some.

what date in June did you order? and did you find out through FB or your dealer?
Facebook has been the only place I have got any information. I still am lined up for a May build but a VIN feels like progress.

I heard a rumour that the export model build numbers will increase due to the US market going into winter and their demand decreasing for a few months.

Could be a reason I guess.

Cheers

I heard back from Ford. My car was ordered Sep 2015, supposedly taking over a cancelled order. Was told by Dealer Aug 2016 delivery.

Checked with Ford AU on Facebook a few weeks back and they said it is Sep 2016 build.

Asked Ford AU about the reported improvement in moving delivery times forward, and I got this somewhat non-committal reply

"We are always working to find outs to reduce waiting times, however your Mustang is still scheduled to be built in September. This is not set in stone so if you would like to message us back a little closer to this time we will be happy to update you with any new information."

So for my Sep build no move apparent. This suggests it's not flowing all the way through. Will update if my position changes.

I think that's a generic response then... that was the date I was quoted by my dealer last time we spoke
