SYNC's voice changed to one with a British accent since installing this. Is that the norm? I thought that the NAV voice may have been causing this, but it's not.

I read through almost all of the post-install comments and couldn't find anyone talking about

It was discussed somewhere in here but yes, instead of using Siri hands-free it switches to the Ford voice recognition. No fix for this yet, hopefully somewhere down the road there will be.

Oh, that's what everyone was considering Siri hands free? I thought that was something special when you hold the voice command button down for like 3 seconds. The Siri like voice was on my 2010 Mustang, and I havent had an Apple phone since 2007.

Mind blown. For 6 years I didn't know Siri was the default voice and was masking SYNCs true British voice.

Ok just making sure I wasn't the only one like wtf. The strange thing is I've also had a Tomtop unit and it never messed with the default Siri voice

So I just went on my maiden voyage to test the GPS out and show my dad the new system. Everything worked great, it took me to his house, music was playing, the whole bit.

I restarted the car and went to show him the GPS.... It went to the iGO primo loading screen and the system rebooted after the loading bar hit a little past half. So I tried again, same issue. I removed my USB stick, disabled BT audio, made sure the GPS was pointing to the primo.exe, and the issue continues. I did a system reset, and still, anytime I try to load the GPS, the system reboots. I accidentally set GPS to auto-on, which got it stuck in a boot loop that that allowed audio to play during the reboot. I then did a master reset, defaulting the unit, and now the GPS points to a non-existent "navione" folder. I pointed it to primo.exe, and the issue persists.

I assume this is a similar issue that Redraven571 and 09jsw reported on page 74. Any ideas, or does it sound like the files are corrupt....

EDIT: Pulled the SD card, reviewed the crash log, kept saying "missing primo.map", so I assume a file went corrupt. While pulling the unit, 2 more clips broke. When putting the SD card back in, somehow the spring loaded locking mechanism broke or shifted, and now the SD card is a real PITA to get in and out with tweezers. The SD card got stuck and I had to pull it out with a fair amount of force, which caused the SD card to slip out of the tweezers hold and into my dash. I really hope whatever happened to the SD slot doesn't cause the SD card to vibrate loose or anything. This is turning into a nightmare, add me to the list with Rabid74 needing the Primo files.

I may have found a possible solution for the inconvenient SD card location on these units. Some people may enjoy unbolting everything, breaking clips and losing stuff in their dashboards, but I'm not one.

I ordered 2 of these SD extension cables (in case one was defective) and plan to run it from the unit, to the glove box where I can mount it for easy access. I do have a concern on clearance between the SD slot and vent trim harness, but I think it'll make it. They're coming from Asia, so once I get them and try it out, I'll let everyone know if it works.

Just make sure you tape it to the back of your unit. They reviews on Amazon say those things ALWAYS come loose. I guess they don't secure very well when inserted. Just an FYI.

Yes, as suggested a few posts ago ;)

what about something similar to this:

SD will be much faster than USB for movies

Ah, didn't notice that on page 67. I read right over it since it was mentioned SD cards being faster for movies.

I read the reviews of it being loose, and reviews that say it locks just fine. No way of knowing how this will go until its tried. I'll happily be the guinea pig for the little bit it cost for them.

A huge shout out and thank you to Fellow member x0ayham0x this man helped me debug my unit that has been glitchy as hell since the day of purchase. Fix the clock, now it reads the correct time!
Give that man a medal!

Question: Are any of you having any issues with the far right side of the screen (say the first 3/8-1/2") being unresponsive. Mine does not register if I touch the screen here, although I have recalibrated the screen at least a dozen times over the last few weeks to try and remedy. Not that big a deal unless there's a button/slider that falls in that first 3/8-1/2".

Thanks,
Joe
