2015 Mustang GT. Been having some trouble with this system for awhile. Installed headers back in the spring. Jacked the engine up too high and cracked an actuator or something on the back. Got a check engine light related to the IMRC stuck open bank 1 P2004. Replaced the cracked part but check engine light returned with the same code. Took the car to the Ford dealer on two separate occasions. They were not able to give me a solution.

Two months ago I decided to eliminate a few variables and replaced my stock intake manifold with a GT350. P2004 came right back. When I swap the blue connectors on the back of the manifold, the problem will follow to Bank 2 and I get a P2006. Bank 1 will be functioning.

I'm of the mind the wiring harness for the Bank 1 controls was stretched too far and separated. However, checking the Bank 1 connector with a multimeter shows voltage.

Not sure where to go from here to diagnosis the issue. Car runs decently with some stumbling at light load, an occasional misfire code and reduced fuel economy.

Get a BOSS or SCJ manifold and no more IMRC problems... On a more serious note, I think you are on the right track, but I would wager a complete new harness will be in order.
