not yet.. if I drive it to work tomorow I'll be filling up with 93 on the way home but I'm still on the summer tires and there is talk of snow so I may have to drive the Z28. Fricken Tire rack is out the TPMS sensors so my snow tire package for the mustang is held up. :frusty:

Actually the car itself was a gift from my grandfather who just before he passed away in June changed his Will to specifically leave me money to buy a new car. I'd have never bought this car without him.

Wow, man. Awesome of your grandfather. Sounds like an great dude and sorry for your loss. You certainly made the right choice in a car, though. I'm sure he'd agree. :) Did you ever share the details on the Camaro? Don't recall.

I decided to throw the GT into sport mode the other night while sitting at a stop light...And after shifting into 2nd, my rear-end let loose like craaaaaazy. Granted, still on summer tires and the conditions, but I can tell its a night-and-day difference between normal and sport driving modes. With normal mode I can feel slip if I give it some gas, but nothing unreasonable. In sport mode, giving it gas means it's go time. I'll have to behave until spring. :D

Thank you. It really is a great gift from a great Man. WWII Vet, bronze star, 2 purple hearts, survived the beaches of Normandy. I have always worked my ass for everything I own and never ask for money from anyone and to get such a gift was amazing.

2001 Z28... Right now its a stock ZO6 cam, stock heads, 1 7/8" Long tube headers exhaust, 4000 stall, FLT level 3 trans, 3.73 gear and a bunch of rusty aftermarket suspension. no idea what HP it has but it will do high 11's all day long on street tires and Mid 11's on slicks. Its been a daily driver even when it was Heads/cam and nitrous car on drag suspension... lol. Now has 150K on it. I Was thinking of building it but I think I may just sell it instead.

I thought I recognized that damn thing, it was my bane! Lol. I had a '02 Mustang GT quite a few years back and some dudes in our car club ran '01 Z28's. Those things were beasts. Thanks for sharing the details!

I've been trying to stay off the forum so I can enjoy my trip, but I couldn't help it and logged in last night. Car in 2 days!!

So I see no front plates for the most part. I bought the sto n sho but not sure I want to keep it. No plans for front plates? Had an IL state sheriff check before so I'm definitely putting something there.

PewterCam, that is an awesome gift!!

I've got my front license plate mounted. I'll already be getting enough cop attention , don't want to give them any more of a reason to pull me over. Lol
