Identifying Front Lip/Splitter

Just learned that myself. It says 8-10 weeks which will definitely push me past the event I’m preparing for. Might have to be a mid-summer mod. Still glad to have the info so I can finally stop driving myself crazy about finding something like this.

Well I hate to bring this back from the dead but hello! A quick update for everyone. Maxton Designs fully discontinued the textured option in May, which made me have to order the gloss black painted option instead. It took about 2 months due to back order, and after receiving it I’ve spent the past few weeks stripping it down and testing products to make it textured black, which I have now achieved that OEM raw look. I will be doing the install on Monday but I have come to the realization that their isn’t any specific install instructions and I’ve only found one video by someone with an 18+ mustang which would be similar. My question is how did everyone else’s install go? From everything I’ve read and can tell, if you have performance pack, their is no way to install this lip without going through both the factory splitter and the under splash shield, which with the bolt and nut hardware means you wouldn’t be able to remove the splash shield without the bumper removed. Is that truly the case or does anyone else have further advice I can take? I’m not 100% against the idea although it would definitely be a pain to always remove the bumper to drop the splash shield if need be. Thanks again!

Damn them on the textured! You're correct. You gotta drill through both. I wish they would have made some markings on where to drill.

Definitely made my life a bit more DIY, but who doesn’t like a challenge! I did a full write up on another post on this forum about how I accomplished the finish. And I agree even mounting this is a bit DIY, I wish they found a way to incorporate it into the car without having to make it impossible to remove the splash shield. It’s not something you remove all the time, but if you need to this definitely makes it challenging! Below I’ve added some photos of the finished product after using some paint products to make it more like the OEM texture opposed to gloss black!

Since you're knee deep in DIY anyway, you could modify your stock belly pan and and lip so the belly pan bolts to the new lip instead of the old one. that might leave you free to use the OEM lip hardware to mount the new lip to the old one, and you'd like lip to belly pan surface to be close to flat anyway.

Be creative! Belly pans aren't free, but they aren't that expensive if you cut one up and sacrifice it to the DIY gods and then decide to go back.

Suspension needs to settle after being on jackstands but everything is on! Love how it turned out and I feel the RTR side splitters match up perfectly to create a uniform body line. Check out my other thread to see how I painted it to match the OEM textured finish. Overall I’m super happy with the outcome!
