I took a trip down to LA from WA in June. Google was telling me where to go so I was simply following orders when I was sent down "The Road of The Gods". I want to thank CA for making Highway 29 from Middleton to Calistoga. I just wish I had been going up it with the traffic I had at the time which was very light. What a BEAUTIFUL drive! Woohoo!

That is a cool road to drive. I've driven there myself, going on a hike at Stevenson State Park which you passed on your way to Calistoga. Another road somewhat nearby that's equally as fun in terms of curves like those on 29 is CA Highway 128 out of Cloverdale, going all the way out to the coast. Yet another road like those 2 in Marin County is Lucas Valley Road off of US 101 in San Rafael. If you make it down here again, I highly suggest travelling those to have some fun.

I ended up on that road because I was headed to Bodega Bay from Weed. Google was leading me by the nose. It was a very nice drive pretty much the entire route it took me on. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

I went home up Highway 395. I cut across from LA through the mountains on a really neat highway also. It just wasn’t as dramatic of an elevation change as 29 but still a very challenging road. I drove 395 all the way to Eastern WA where I live. That’s got some very neat sections in it too.

Thanks for the info. I plan on heading back down there. šŸ‘

I assume you drove through the Avenue of the Giants on your way down? Old 101?

I’ve been there on a previous trip. That is really neat.
