They use whole-car covers on the C7 as well - and you even get it with your car.
Yes, and all the scratches it puts in are a lot of fun to polish out. :(

It took 38+ hours of machine polishing on mine to remove the damage that white tyvek cover Chevy uses introduced.

I'd prefer the plastic cling stuff everyone used to use. Sitting outside at the rail yards with that cover on in the weather is really not a good thing at all. Lots of stuff gets between the cover and the paint, then ground in the rest of the trip to the dealer. I threw the cover away at the dealership, everyone pretty much does that since once you see it you realize you'll never be able (or want) to use it again.

That is a pain.

My first job will be to clean the car when I get it.

First a foam gun and two-bucket wash, then clay bar the whole thing, buff out any minor scratches, and then apply a sealer.

I've been practicing on my Jetta, so I'm ready...

As for those cars, I'd guess the crusher is where they're headed.
