That's not true the US does produce rubber for tires that are produced here. There are also foreign tire Mfgs in the US that also use US produced rubber. They also use synthetic rubber and or a blend of both.
Yes but the rubber and petchem used to produce final rubber is imported as is the steel belts.... since we don't have runner trees and have limited petchem range and production most aimed at high value add.

That wasn't the issue, about 64% of the rubber used in tire production in the US is imported. The statement I responded to was it is all imported and not mfg. in the US. And some tires are US produced.

Agreed with @Journey GT 435

…you just don’t know until you see the sidewall, ALL the manufacturers have offshore facilities and sometimes your favorite used to be made here, but now is not 😐

Wingnut, you are 100% right. Until you see the USA on the side wall you just don't know. Uniroyal Tiger Paws was always a USA tire, It says Indonesia now.

I install and balance my own tires. I know it is done right and the wheels are torqued to spec. I go to my old wholesaler to get tires.

years ago I had a shop not tighten the lug nuts on any of the rims. As I pulled out of the shop I heard clunk clunk and pulled back in and raised holy hell. Still didn't get a discount. Never went back to that shop. That was a Montgomery Wards auto center.

This shop knew the proper torque spec for the lugs and I watched them put the wrench on the bolts.

I wish I had the tools to install and balance tires. When I was younger I was taught to line up the dot with the valve stem, I never see this on any tire and when I ask they look at me with deer in the headlight stare.

I have about 100 miles on the DWS06+ and so far they ride nice, even with my firm springs and shocks, they are very quiet even on rough freeway's and they are smooth, balanced very well.

I hit a few traffic circles and these tires are very close to summer only tires as far as grip.

We shall see if all this holds up.

The only way to know is "wide ass open until you see God, Then BRAKE!" Glad you were able to watch the job being done. A lot of people don't have a clue about the dots. I have six motorcycles, two mustangs, and two trucks, The equipment has paid for it self. Rim clamp tire changer, and computer balancer.

With US rubber.
All raw materials in the plant are blended together at the rubber compounding plant then shipped to tire production plant that's buying it's steel belts off shore .... fact is majority >50 content is imported besides China has hand on 80% global rubber raw materials no avoiding foreign content since we offshored everything 30 years ago.

One possible negative for these is they run hot. I think they might heat cycle out before they wear out.

Time will tell.

You are in KY right? The tire shouldn't get hot unless the temps are in the 90s and even then you should be able to touch them and hold your hand on them. If not I would check the tire pressure and make sure that it is what the door jam of your car reccomends. Low tire pressure will cause exsisive heat.
