My 2016 GTPP needs a clutch. It is a mild NA bolt-on car in the 430rwhp neighborhood. Nothing crazy. I do not want an overly aggressive clutch, as the car is street driven 90% of the time. However, I would like the next one to last more than 20k miles like the factory one did before it blew apart.
I am leaning towards a McLeod RST (not RXT) but am open to other ideas. I also want to have everything necessary on hand when I pull the trans to reduce downtime.
I would like to replace the TOB, PB, slave cyl, and probably the flywheel. I would imagine I will need a flywheel specific to the clutch I choose, but what about the throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and slave cylinder? Should I use OEM FoMoCo pieces here or are there better aftermarket options? Is it worth adding in a braided stainless clutch line while I'm at it?
Anything else I should consider while I'm in there? Part of me wants to add an MGW shifter as well but in the event I have any kind of issues (NVH or otherwise) I think it might be smarter to do one piece at a time.
Thoughts?
